Everyone have been discussing on the oil price. Should I join OnG industry at this moment as freshie? Given the market condition. Have received an job offer from a company as design engineer but my ex-supervisor suggesting me to consider to join the industry. Is it wise to join OnG now ?

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Jun 1 2016, 08:03 AM) This industry always hiring fresh blood coz its cheaper rather than taking experienced one, depend on several circumstances. Yeah Heard that too.but seems like the job is insecure.still in dilemma though. Any chance the market will be secure again ? QUOTE(ZZMsia @ Jun 1 2016, 08:34 AM) Guess freshie that just join is constantly worrying about their job security

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Jun 1 2016, 02:40 PM) Bang kalau nak secure kerja Govt bang. Hehe. No such thing as job security if you are working in private sector - be it O&G, banking, manufacturing, airlines... Sorry ye bukan niat nak terkasar... btol gak bang..haha..just nak mintak advise skit dr otai2. Should I join OnG or will it be better if I pickup the other offer first then later when oil market become stable again then only I join OnG ? cause as a freshie lagi x sure which decision to make.huhu.

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Jun 1 2016, 06:27 PM) Just join. Learn as much as you can. Involve in as much project as you can. Networking as much as you can in this industry. The keyword that I want to highlight in this statement is NETWORKING. Agree QUOTE(ZZMsia @ Jun 1 2016, 07:05 PM) When market becomes stable it will be hard to secure a job..As those who have jumped into Construction/downstream/other industries would return for the $$$$$ How likely is it for the market to become stable again ? Many theory suggest that oil and gas era has come to end with the idea of EV (Tesla) and and so on.
