QUOTE(mohdyakup @ May 31 2016, 08:18 PM) Downstream business still going strong for Amec-FW, particularly for Synthomer Job-5 expansion project, Shell MDS export pipeline extension to jetty, and the incoming MLNG BIG-P. They are also heavily lobbying for the Penapisan Melaka Euro-5 upgrading project too. Yeap Amec downstream is strong.. Downstream also has big big jobs..Upstream no EPC contracts now And since Mukhriz is already ousted from being MB at Kedah, I wonder what happen to the feasibility study which currently in progress for oil refinery project at Gurun - AmecFW got the job. Hope its not being scrapped again. |

Petronas has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with JX Nippon Oil & Energy (JX NOE) to sell 10 percent of equity stake in Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd (PL9SB), its wholly-owned subsidiary.
In a statement today, Petronas said JX NOE’s entry into PL9SB marked its second participation in Petronas’ liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, in addition to its existing 10 percent equity interest in MLNG Tiga Sdn Bhd. “PL9SB owns the ninth LNG liquefaction train within the Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak with a production capacity of 3.6 million tonnes per annum and is expected to commence commercial operations in first quarter of 2017,” it said. Petronas president and group chief executive officer Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin said the sale demonstrated Petronas’ ongoing commitment to grow its LNG business with the support of trusted partners. “JX NOE has played a key role in the development of MLNG Tiga and we look forward to their similar contribution to PL9SB,” he added. |

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Jun 14 2016, 08:12 PM) BRE platform owned by Talisman is for Bunga Raya field right? Received an inquiry from them this morning. Just changed this Monday I believe.Noticed that Talisman is officially using Repsol logo at their cover letter, so I guess they have obtained the changes legally as entity of Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited. Last two weeks back I received inquiry from them still using Talisman letterhead. Hehehehe. |

Petronas officials had said previously that with crude oil prices still far below the US$100 per barrel seen during the industry’s heyday several years ago, the development of marginal oilfields no longer made economic sense, given its high breakeven cost of production.
“The breakeven price was just above US$60 for the marginal oilfields to be economically viable,” said an industry official. In a statement yesterday, Petronas said the cessation of the RSC would allow it to minimise the project’s long-term value erosion and optimise the development and production activities in Malaysia in line with efforts to reduce costs and increase efficiency. |
