i dun have iriz.
but i've bought wira (noisy) savvy (electrical from renault engine) persona (power window back left spoilt 1) Inspira (clutch bearing noisy. have to replace) Besides the wira which broke down once (my fault), none of the other cars have broken down or have had any serious problems worst thn mentioned above. But don't expect fuel efficiency from their cars or cheap maintenance. |

If proton's maintainence isn't cheap compared to other available brands, what else can be considered as cheap ?

You better ask this question in Iriz thread.
No point open the thread here as you unlikely will get honest answer. Mostly from non Iriz owner. |

QUOTE(gerop @ Jan 25 2016, 09:23 PM) Hi All, Bought the car on launch day. Full spec. So far, no major problem. Only the outside roof side plastic came off. Other than that its good. Ohh.. maybe the reverse sensor, which is known to be a problem since exora/preve. They use same vendor. It is not sensitive enough. For future model, they changed to another vendor. The head unit, people say it always hang. It will, but if you be delicate on it, and always switch off before you turn off the engine, its all good. It's a very low performance arm chip that easily heat up. Other than that, it is a brilliant car. I just want to make a poll and find out how is the quality of the new Iriz Is it good? Improved from old model days? or just plain bad Thanks If you not looking for hatchback, maybe wait for the new Persona based on the Iriz platform. You'll probably get a better gearbox from Jatco. Also heard they will replacing the Iriz gearbox with Jatco, but i don't think that will happened this year. Maybe next year when the FL the Iriz. |

What other Proton 4AT gearbox? All new Proton cars come with CVT nowadays. The inherent effect of that damn Punch CVT gearbox is that jerking motion when slow. At normal speed say 80 - 100km/h, it is as smooth as silk. |

QUOTE(frossonice @ Jan 26 2016, 01:00 PM) What other Proton 4AT gearbox? Persona still comes with 4AT gearbox, the Satria Neo was 4AT as well, just that now it isn't listed for sale on official site anymore....All new Proton cars come with CVT nowadays. The inherent effect of that damn Punch CVT gearbox is that jerking motion when slow. At normal speed say 80 - 100km/h, it is as smooth as silk. Punch CVT has loud whine during operation too, maybe less in Suprima but in Saga it's obvious, in summary it just lacks a little refinement... |

I own 1.3 exec..
Most of proton's problem is minor really.. Rattling noise, loose rubber strips..but still these minor things can leave very bad experience to owner.. But do i regret buying it? No.. |
