Good read for this topic. I use non-admin account and frequent re-imaging (2-3 times per week using Acronis). Also Knoppix Live CD when I need absolute safety temporarily.

Seldom pay much attention to software firewalls, anti-spyware or anti-virus anymore. I read about ppl getting hacked even with a full suite of anti-this-and-that. Confidence breaking.
