i had a slightly newer CQ40.
replaced the original HDD with a SanDisk SSD 3-4 years ago......felt like a completely new laptop with 12 second boot up time with WIn7. then the motherboard died and ever since then,I have 2 SSDs in my desktop  seriously, short answer is yes |
