sorry for hijacking thread , anyone who owned ddr4 slot laptop can confirm with me this ? does the ddr3/ddr3l ram fit into the ddr4 slot on notebook ? i do know that on Desktop its different port design , not sure about lappy tho

Unless the manufacturer of your laptop mobo (ASUS) say otherwise, it simple will not boot or ignore the additional amount of RAM inserted from the supported specification. Same thing with desktop mobo. Try inserting over the stated supported amount of memory from the RAM. It won't work.
Why would you want beyond 8GB of RAM for your laptop anyway? unless your laptop is one of those high-end powerhouse modern gaming laptops, inserting more than 8GB will go to waste, since other parts of your laptop like the CPU and GPU it's gonna be the bottleneck before able to fully utilize that amount of RAM for whatever programs you wish to run. |
