Hey guys, I'm encountering error 53 on my ipad.
I have researched a fair bit, done that recovery mode restore, clean the registry, reinstall, bla bla bla... but still to no success of restoring my ipad.
How did I arrive at error 53? - I tried updating the ipad to 9.x (forgot which release). But right after the installation it got stuck at the dreaded 'connect to iTunes' screen.
Has anyone successfully overcome error 53? Or anyone knows someone who knows how to fix this? (or can at least try?)
I brought this back to Apple service centre 2 weeks back, they said your ipad is dead and you are screwed, and there's nothing they can do about it. Warranty doesn't cover this apparently.
Help me guys! Thanks!
Eric
unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this but to go to an Apple store - official Apple store in Malaysia
this is because the error to brick your ipad or iPhone is deliberate by Apple as a security measure. Why?
if you do more extensive search on the internet you will find out that this is because the IOS of your device has detected that a hardware component of your device has been tampered or changed to a non original one eg an OEM one in the past - you may know this or you may have got your device this way unknowingly
anyway when the IOS is upgraded to this new ver of IOS that you have attempted to upgrade to, this security measure was activated and hence error 53
there is no way to factory reset your device yourself - you will have to bring it to an Apple store and hopefully a large enough one that can repair (and you pay) for the service
