yes. the SOCSO number is the same with your IC number. unless u got claim before, then you got separe number already.

Your SOCSO account number/reference number is your IC number.

SOCSO is like insurance....a cheap one though...
It benefits company more than do to u...

If u injured during working hours, your company can claim from SOCSO...
But then, if u dont get injured, where the money goes?

I heard a story before ... scenario is as below:

A worker met with an accident outside the factory during working hours. He was on medical leaves for several weeks.

During his medical leaves he did request the management to claim from his socso.

Result was: the management told him that he can't claim from socso, or something like it's very small amount, too much time, not worth it and blah blah blah ... they didn't process for him also.

And later ... he accidentally found out from another source that the company actually DID claim on similar case ... but for the claimed amount, gone missing ... the claimed amount never reached the injured worker.

We were being told that the claim is made on company's name, thus the amount, if you don't know how to "claim" from the management, is "gone missing" from the rights of the injured worker to "who knows where".


So ... I would like to ask around, if anyone familiar with socso claim cases, were there similar cases like this one?
Any rights for the injured worker to claim back the amount of compensation to him (no matter how little the money)?

EMPLOYER CLAIM[U]

When u accident, u go to SOCSO panel clinic or government clinic/hospital.

Bring along FROM 21 and FORM PKS 68 /PKS 69 and also company letter.

All F.O.C.

After that, u got MC...u give to company.

Then, company has to report to SOCSO and fill up FORM 21, FORM 10, your attendance record, MC and your NRIC copy to SOCSO office.

If accident happen to u on the way to/from office, must have all that and police report and map of place of accident.

Then, SOCSO will send you a letter mentioning that a claim has been made, so u would know. Always update ur address la..if not, how to get letter?

Not really, if starting pay of ur 1st job higher then 3.5k (Forgotten), you can opt not to contribute =)

My cousin who's senior manager was involved in terrible accident on his was to work in his superbike and was sidelined for 6 months luckily he paid his socso and he gets both side from socso and his company which is great if you ask me.

normally it is same as IC number. to be sure, you can always give a call to socso office and give them you IC number, they will be able to give you your socso number over the phone.

which means SOSCO is the same as our IC number?
