Haha, even speedier for me, thursday night placed order, friday morning got my stuffs
Anyway, the cooling performance is so-so only, as expected, but hell, FINALLY, i have my moment of peace and silence again... the only sound from cpu i can hear now is the graphic card hsf, just wait till i get my new caseing and a passive cooling gfx card... Thanks dude~ |

Well actually it's big part due to my casing and setup too... as my case is quite small (comparing to the newer cases nowadays) and there's a lot of stuffs in it, so it's quite crowded until it affects the air flow inside... and you know u12f is damn big, i think this makes the air flow even worse... BUT this will all change after i have my antec p182 case, waiting stock to arrive
Currently running ~40 idle, ~50 load. Previously it was ~38 idle, ~45 load, with a quite noisy thermaltake hsf. But i'll take total silence (well, almost) over 5c temp rise anytime anyday |

Are you going to put U6 on northbridge or southbridge or both?

It depends on what is ur cpu and ambient temp
Mine under extremely low air flow inside casing, room temp about 30c (@#$!#@$# si bei hot now), this baby still manages to give 45c idle 50c load. Given the layout of Infinity P965S Dark, it is unlikely U6 and U12 will block each other This post has been edited by zhiyung: Jun 29 2007, 10:03 PM |

Depending on the position of the northbridge on the mainboard, the compatibility of the NC-U6 may depend not only on the mainboard but also on other components (such as graphic cards and big CPU or VGA coolers) close to the chipset. Thus, please check whether your system provides enough room for the installation of the cooler according to the measurements.
In general, the NC-U6 is compatible with all mainboards with push-pin holes or mounting hooks. The following mainboards, however, are incompatible because the distance between the mounting hooks is too close: Asus M2A-VM. BUT if this is not enough to convince you, check the following attachments Attached thumbnail(s) |

Er... the picture does show both U12 and U6 installed... the big one is U12 and the small U6 is just below it... but then if you wanna add a fan on U6, either broad side or narrow side, personally i don't think there'll be great effect
