Hi, upon survey on mazda 3 between 2008 and 2010, i found out it cost less than 40k. What i thought is that it is quite cheap (the huge price drop when compared to the car's age). May i know what could be the reason? Is it the comfort? Maintainance? Talking about maintainance, how expensive a mazda parts could be?

Since this is a rare car, whenever car spoil, will mazda themselves have ready stock for parts?

QUOTE(danielcmugen @ Jan 21 2016, 12:54 AM) Since this is a rare car, whenever car spoil, will mazda themselves have ready stock for parts? Im not sure especially with the new mazda3 generation with the skyactive which i believe have totally different internals.

I have a Mazda 3 Hatchback 2010.
I have no problems with it, very comfortable ride. I think service isn't bad too (not expensive, i had maybe RM200-RM500 for normal service), parts are easily available. And regarding stock for parts, there's plenty around in their warehouse. My MX-5 took longer to find parts (which is about 3-4 days) compared to the Mazda 3 (which is readily available). The hatchback makes transporting very convenient with ample space. The acceleration at lower rpms could be a bit better, but other than that it's a smooth car to drive.
You have to know that, what parts are you looking at? Wear and tear parts? There's a big difference in "spare parts", wear and tear parts are easily available. Other bigger parts like engine, gearbox, you won't have to change it unless you don't service it regularly, abusing the car or met with unfortunate circumstances (e.g. accident, lemon)

The previous Mazda models before the Skyactiv versions are not very good to begin with, not only in performance but looks when compared to the much sportier and elegant looking models, both interior and exterior. In summary, not many people want this car even though it's cheap in the 2nd hand market.

Well, it's always up to the individual. RM30k+ for a Mazda 3 seems acceptable considering it's not only the latest model but is also quite old already for a 2010 year model, almost 8 years. The current Mazda 3 is >RM60k because it's the latest model and newer, less than 5 years old if I am not mistaken.
