+jam not as bad as KL +weather/air usually ok if not haze season +nice place to work +got bank, shops & etc for business and leisure -makan places mostly mahal, I think canteen gov building like MDEC is the few that has cheap food -a few hotspots need more parking (preferable free one) |

5 years i would give 5
but nowadays it's quite developed, without being over populated various types of chicks. you can go two weeks shagging different nationalities every night the foods!!! two petronas in one area. another shell opening straight highway to kl, backroad to pd and if you notice, lots of road signs and traffic lights are knocked down. it seems like cyber people using them as target practice cyberjaya is cool |

Now with the opening of two shopping mall and row of shops there is a lot of food spot to choose from QUOTE(deora @ Jan 20 2016, 03:32 PM) No one is comparing about food taste..but we are talking bout choices of food...you hav food at dpulse..old town area..shaftsbury..kfc that row..domain...those shop lots opposite ibm building..the gem mall..etc I have been living in cyberjaya for 9 months for project in 2014. I have been eating around Cyberjaya, and stay in Cyberjaya at night. All the restaurants you mentioned I have tried it already.Food nice or not is personal preference..but the choices are definitely there..unless ppl just hide in their office without coming out and dont know what is happening around cyberjaya Yeah, the food choice you guys mention are quite bad and far apart. So I do think cyberjaya is not really a good place for food and living. It is a place for work only. Most expat I know will don't want to stay in Cyberjaya, only students and foreign workers and some locals stay in Cyberjaya. Locals who stay in Cyberjaya also normally doesn't eat much in Cyberjaya since outside there are better choice. I assume you 2 must be staying in Cyberjaya for years and enjoying the food there? |

If they are proper students that come here to study, it is completely fine. But they are not, they basically party every night and very loud. If your home is far away from them then it is fine. 2. A lot people buying property are choosing the neighbours as well, but people who stay in cyberjaya are mostly foreigners that wasn't as friendly as Malaysians that you normally meet. And really don't expect educated civilized friendly foreigners will be your neighbours, people like that will not choose to stay in cyberjaya. You must choose to stay with Malaysians as neighbours. 3. Cyberjaya food is expensive, and not that nice. But if you can afford to stay there, probably wasn't an issue. 4. Cyberjaya is a very very anti-comercialize, anti-capitalism place, all the shops and infrastructure, and fully planned by government, private sector have very little say here. So you will only see petron, but no other petrol station, you will only see KFC, pizza hut, and old town kopitiam but no mcd. You will only see Pepsi in cyberjaya but no Coca Cola. Everything must be in control, it is much more worse than communist city Beijing. This is basically the heaven of communism. But I really feel suffocated by it. 5. Cyberjaya is a very well planned place, like a robot. At day time still not that scary, but after 7pm. It will become basically a dead town with all the foreigners party around. It is deadly quiet and noisy at the same time. You don't feel like this is a place for family to live, it is like a forsaken place. But I believe Putrajaya will be slightly better. Entire Klang Valley also have quiet place, we all know it. But I think Cyberjaya cannot use quiet to describe it, it's like a ghost town at night, you feel alone but yet it is full of shadow. Like in another world. I have been living there before, so basically I can understood what Pepper has described, the bus stop is basically the only place that feel like a human place. tag deora EDIT: dun marah me, I just stated my thought on living in cyberjaya as my previous experience. QUOTE(ReWeR @ Jan 20 2016, 07:08 PM) There's no need to argue, u can move there and try out their life style there. I just list down why people normally dislike cyberjaya, it just a general opinions, you can ignore it if you think it is not right: 1. Cyberjaya is full of arabs, africans and bangladesh. If they are proper students that come here to study, it is completely fine. But they are not, they basically party every night and very loud. If your home is far away from them then it is fine. Depends where you stay, landed property around the lake or condos like Cyber Heights don't have this problem. Lol, cannot generalize like that lah. My iranian neighbour is chill and some nike neighbours there also okay.( Depends on area, srs) 3. Cyberjaya food is expensive, and not that nice. But if you can afford to stay there, probably wasn't an issue. Yeah agree, deswai I say want nice haram food need drive to Puchong, but 15 mins. But Cyberjaya got burgerlab and some decent hipster place, but expensive lah. Got Petronas, got McD , but that is the point of the ideology you are stating here, if that ideology is not implemented, Cyber will end up like SS15 or PJ with massive traffic congestion and idiots double parking every step of the way. 5. Cyberjaya is a very well planned place, like a robot. At day time still not that scary, but after 7pm. It will become basically a dead town with all the foreigners party around. From this statement, I can tell that you are not just used to foreigners that's it lol. EDIT: dun marah me, I just stated my thought on living in cyberjaya as my previous experience. |

QUOTE(ichigo_6091 @ Jan 20 2016, 08:13 PM) Like I said, everyone view a place differently. Some will like it, some dislike it.Btw, how was Netherland? QUOTE(faizal muthakhir @ Jan 20 2016, 08:25 PM) you must be the anti-social type with xenophobic mentality. I'm an senior member here, everyone know I'm definitely not xenophobic.i dont see any problem with foreigners. foreigners are the reason this city is cool and high class. in cyberjaya everybody, even mamak or toilet cleaner are able to speak english. it is not a ghost town anymore today. traffic lights are everywhere. i can drive alone around the town at 3am and still feel very safe. I welcome all foreigners, but I personally prefer those educated, civilized and friendly foreigner (sorry for being picky, but that's who I am). But they choose not to stay in cyberjaya, so cyberjaya is quite difficult to met those kind of foreigners. I have no issue with the language they use, it's none of my problem. I can communicate with everyone, but obviously cyberjaya is not a place for local Malaysians. I know cyberjaya is full of traffic light, I have stayed there for 9 months. It looks happening, but actually it is quite lonely. The main problem is ... everyone here who defend Cyberjaya have heavily put their emotion into this place, this place represent their ego and spirit. But I'm purely talking about is Cyberjaya a good place to live or not as a person who stayed there before. |

QUOTE(faizal muthakhir @ Jan 20 2016, 08:40 PM) But that is really not the main point. I'm compare cyberjaya with KL city, which I prefer to live in Kuala Lumpur. Most expat I know, also choose to live in Kuala Lumpur. Even ambassadors from foreign countries, they will not choose to live in Putrajaya, and choose Kuala Lumpur. Because that is really a more happening place, and a place full of normal people. Actually I think whole klang valley also slightly better than cyberjaya. At least it felt like a normal human living place. I'm not against anyone to move in there, you like it, please go ahead. Btw, how long you have been staying in Cyberjaya? |

QUOTE(deora @ Jan 20 2016, 08:45 PM) seems like u prefer somewhere messy like bukit bintang, chow kit area...u dont like organized township...have to been to bukit jalil or some part of puchong where blacks and arabs are everywhere?..so those place are not livable as well??..cyberjaya food is expensive?...tell me if kl/pj food is any cheaper....also..u didnt mention parking in cyberjaya is way cheaper as compared to kl/pj...im not sure ur trolling or what with this statement So you will only see petron, but no other petrol station, you will only see KFC, pizza hut, and old town kopitiam but no mcd. so ur trying to say government actually restrict private sector from doing business there??...hmm....do you know Shell is coming up soon?...Old town kopitiam is under Berjaya group which is the same as Mc D & starbucks?..i have many colleague staying there and not 1 of them felt the same restriction like yours...also..if u think this place is not suitable for family to live...so kl & pj is much better as the crime rates over there are higher??..hmmmmm..interesting theory I'll say 'political planning'.anyway...different ppl different preference...some like quiet some like noisy..some like hairy some like clean shaved...no hard feelings...u free u come cyber i buy u few cokes where u didnt manage to get But these type of 'planning' really suffocate me. So I choose to leave cyberjaya. Just my preference. I know where to get coke in cyber (hello, I stay there for 9 months), but it's really not that easy, usually is small private shops only got. But honestly, back in Kuala Lumpur, I can choose any drinks I want without any thought or any concern or any restriction. It's felt good to choose whatever shop you want, or whatever food and beverage you like. Ya, I know I'm spoiled. |

I lived in Dengkil with parents for more that 20 years, so I know what Cybersouth was look like before, and for the developer to slap >700k properties there is unbelievable. Heard the postcode is not Cyberjaya, but Dengkil due to developer failed to get an approval from municipal council. |

QUOTE(ThisIsAter @ Jan 20 2016, 11:48 AM) Looking at the poll results, it seems like majority are on two extreme end, die hard and haters of cyberjaya. I've seen cyberjaya grow since 2002 and lived there for many years. It used to be so quiet, really like a ghost town. That's because they have so few night time population. Not much residence available there. Big area but only limited residence. U can imagine how it is like. Now it's transforming and it is so much better. Though currently I don't live there but i often visit Cyberjaya. It's so much more livable now. And as more development will be ready within these few years, I foresee the place to be perfect to stay. U basically don't need to leave the place to get almost everything. Self sustain and there's not much traffic. So getting around to shop, dine, movie, entertainment will be just a short drive. Fancy neighborhood mall can just go to IOI city mall which is just 15mins away. New IKEA at Cochrane is just about 25mins away via MEX. Anyway, you don't normally go to those places everyday. I think some had bad experience coz staying at student populated condo. More family stay at development like Garden Residence, Dmelor, Perdana Lakeview east/west, summerglades, Symphony hill. If stay at cyberia or domain, possible to encounter students as ur neighbors and foreign students that r noisy. Well, every where also u can definitely find quiet or noisy residential area. At least overall Cyberjaya feels peaceful. So yeah, I like Cyberjaya a lot. And I agree if they have tram to connect all the place of interest then it will be perfect. Lol. At least MRT2 is coming. So there's another option to travel in future. |

The infrastructure is well planned, the road within the city can be expanded without having to demolish existing bus stop to 3/4 lane road.
No land is allocated for industrial/ manufacturer. The entire city is planned by 1 master planner. Stricter control by municipal. I heard F&B there need to dispose their waste properly, need to be filter properly (as recently I'm looking for a land to do foodcourt business there). Land owned by 2 company only, Setia haruman / cyberview, they are the one that responsible to sell the land to developer and set expectations + conditions to developer as of what to build. Cyberview revealed last few years, they will not sell anymore land, it shows that they are aware about the output and will not hesitate to take measurements to control the supply of land if necessary. Low crime rates, many disagree with me, but few years there, I never really heard anyone complaining their phone been snatched on the road. A self sustainable city without having to depends on other city concept is really attractive. I give 8/10 to Cyberjaya. |

QUOTE(alwinnng @ Jan 20 2016, 02:26 PM) Terminal (street mall), Q-thai restaurant, order :- Bangkok chicken. Thank me later QUOTE(ReWeR @ Jan 21 2016, 01:22 PM) Then brands such as coca cola, how difficult it is to be sold in Cyberjaya? But you almost see no coca cola in Cyber. If this is not control, I don't know what is. I start to doubting you, I think you never stay for a night in cyber or even been to Cyberjaya at all. All the restaurants, such as Nandos, Bens, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks, are strongly related to government linked corporate. That is why it is so boring in Cyberjaya. Everything must be government related brand first. I know it's getting more and more private brands coming in ... but it is still look boring to me. what other private brands are thinking, is same with what I think. Cyberjaya is not a suitable place for business and residence. Mainly because of the quality of the management and inhabitants. You claim you stay there 9 month? Which place? Give me the places name to proof you ever stay there. This post has been edited by wanted111who: Jan 24 2016, 01:44 PM |

For a township that was allowed to be planned from scratch, it could've been done much better.
Too many traffic lights and intersections in short stretches, cutting to the U-turn when you come from MEX is dangerous, lack of parking spaces at the new shop lots, etc. I think it's average for a township, and disappointing when you consider they had a blank slate to work on. |

QUOTE(squarepilot @ Jan 24 2016, 06:18 PM) There is a lot nowadays actually. Not much like Puchong or PJ for example but that is a chinese majority area anywayCyberjaya have a lot of MNC so the population here is more diverse as there is less of chinaman company here than Puchong or PJ.\ What do you expect when the population is not that big in the first place. If you a restaurant owner you won't open a non halal restaurant because you are limiting yourself to only chinese people. You make a halal or no pork restaurant you can capture both market so more profit. It just business sense. |
