QUOTE(Dothan @ Dec 19 2006, 11:24 PM) Hi All, still have that problem? A short update on my xbox, i opened it again to re-coat the artic silver. Below is my steps: 1. Found out the previous coating was too thick, this is no good. 2. Cleaned up the mess 3. Polished the heatsink with sandpaper 4. Re-apply the artic silver again (this time very little and smooth the surface with unused credit card) 5. Running dead rising to raise the heat on GPU 6. When it is hot, press the ram chip to ensure firm contact. Now praying hard it can minimise the glitches |

QUOTE(Dothan @ Dec 20 2006, 02:46 PM) Not sure, tonight will be full Las Vegas to stress test my latest "mod" - polished heatsink + uber thin artic silver layer. Yesterday night i played 30 min of dead rising, the result is positive so far. Cannot eliminate but minimize the glitches. orait good luck Caution : Please check the X-clamp is tighly clamped your heat sink. Any loose clamp will result hardware failure. |

QUOTE(ionStorm @ Jan 7 2007, 01:28 PM) Btw...just to let you guys know, I changed for a new unit...and NO MORE GLITCHES! None. Not a single one...at least not yet. Hehe... u bought new console? The previous unit I had was manufactured in April. This unit is manufactured in August. The old unit they gave me was actually packaged with the Gears of War pack previously. They hadn't sold it so they packed it with the new DOA pack. |

QUOTE(ron4 @ Jan 27 2007, 12:00 PM) Ohh god. I feel a bit menyesal bought X360 because it sux. Why big and rich company like Microsoft dont learn from their mistake like this, or they don't even care about their product quality. Why not they learn from previous Xbox on motherboard, chip design and the most important their cooling system. They only focus on how to compete with playstation not quality on thier own machine. u also kena 3ROD or graphic glitches? If i know about this before i will sure consider to buy PS3 or PSP instead of X360. Every penny count. |
