There is no problem with the C7 and its still under warranty. But seeing the other comment that C7 is not good for HDR gaming due to the firmware update (holds true on some feedback in google) is putting me off. My friend doens't play games and so might need to take my PS4 PRO to test it in his TV.
Now my best location for a TV is a good 10 feet away and the sofa is behind a window with ample sunshine. TV screen will have direct sunshine. This is addressed by your comment earlier as this TV will still be good.
I tested 10 feet on the 65 inch TV and they look great on 4K content. Infact for 4K content you can sit even closer to TV.
But not sure whether I should go for a new C8 55 inch instead rather than 65 inch (C7 or C8) for my 10 feet. Since C7/ C8 is bezel-less 55 inch and 65 inch doens't look that big.
Anyone using 65 inch C7/ C8 from 10 feet or little less and which content has lot of noise in the picture. My family watch some SD channels and may be they get upscaled but not sure how good it will be. I cannot test all this at my friends TV.
By the standards of SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers) , they suggest the TV screen filling up 30% of your vision for normal people , 40% for Cinema enthusiast for more immersion .
65 inches = 8.9' (2.69 m) for 30% ; 6.5' (1.98 m) for 40%
55 inches = 7.5' (2.28 m) for 30 % ; 5.5' (1.68 m) for 40%
So yea , feel free make the adjustment by yourself . Take note everyone has a different endurance , some people may experience motion sickness sitting too close to the TV , so take these as a guideline , but not absolute rules .
You shouldn't worry too much about picture noise , just turn that mpeg / noise reduction to the max . These TVs are like noise absorber, unfortunately this will also remove many of the fine details . But if you are watching content on SD , what details are we talking about here
Just turn it off when you are back to watching UHD content.
