I travel with them and always get my prefered seat and booked meal that i ordered. You can also get an confirmation slip at the check in counter. Did you do that or do you think that you have already called to remind them are sufficient??
why so marah? i've been flying MAS for 30 years. and comparing service from then and now i can say with certainty that it now sucks and has fallen far far far from what it used to be. compared with other airlines its more or less the same or worse. calling to book a bassinet is normal procedure. thats what i do for all my flights and thats why they have that service...

normally they will send a confirmation if the CS does their job. MAS however did try to charge me if i wanted to book a seat next to my wife which was pretty fkd up. so had to call them 48 hours before flight and book. only then its free....

yeah you can bring wipes on board no problem. normally when i fly to and from beijing ill bring: wipes, diapers, biscuits, home cooked baby food, toys (non-electronic), books, 1ltr water thermos (w/water), 1 baby water bottle (w/water), and extra clothes. phew... so far no issues through customs for Cathay, MAS and Dragon Air.
