But the question still stands, can i re-mod a modded xbox?

You must have the original firmware in order to put it back into it's original state. As for Samsung drive you can find the appropriate original firmware version and replace it with your current dvd drive key. For instance if your Samsung original firmware was MS25, you need to find the original MS25 firmware and replace the dvd drive key with your hacked firmware dvd drive key. This involves opening your box and dump the current dvd rom drive firmware and copy out the drive key into the original firmware and flash it back into your dvd rom drive and you'll have your x360 back into it's original state.

But better be safe to have the original firmware. That's why I modded the box my own so that I can backup the original firmware and flash it back to the original state whenever I like.

Excellent...thank you for the response. Reverting the firmware is principally what i want to do...

I kinda bought the machine without really doing any research whatsoever... so this is just rewards i guess.

the modchip i am considering is manufactured by... http://www.team-underdog.com/

Is there somewhere i can get this done? I am not to comfortable with doing this myself...

Thanks again..
Ack!! i just noticed more responses so a quick edit... ok... no, i bought the machine modded so i don't have my own key... hmmm... hell, i don't even know if its a samsung drive, its starting to sound much easier to just but an original one... :-)

Once again, thanks for the response...

Regards,

Pars

Actually you can revert back to your original firmware. This can only be done like I said, if you can find the untouched firmware (it's possible...I've found all the untouch firmwares for all drives, Samsung and Hitachi) that matches with your original firmware and ask someone that really know how to do it for you.... biggrin.gif

Original firmwares for Samsung Drive have 2 versions i.e ms25 and ms28. If your box was manufactured after June and your drive is Samsung, 100% possibility your original firmware is ms28.

As for Hitachi there are around 9 firmwares and version 0078 being the latest.

If you want to install a modchip and if your box is fitted with the latest Samsung or Hitachi drive, the installation of the modchip will be a bit difficult if compare to older drives as you have to remove the epoxy around the flash rom (the SST chip). One way for M$ trying to stop people to put a modchip inside the dvd drive. But yet it still can be done with a proper tool.

Here's to check wether your drive is a Samsung or Hitachi. Just eject your drive and compare with the picture below.

i do not know is it true but i asked a guy in sungei wang and he said that they are different types of modification...
1) U can play ehem games but cant XBL
2) U can play ehem games and XBL with original games
3) U can play ehem games and XBL even with ehem games

well...actually i doubt what he said flex.gif

It depends on which firmware hacks is being used to flash into x360. If the shop is using the latest firmware you can play original and backup offline and online (XBL).
The question now is we really don't know when M$ will going to ban all the modded boxes. If you're really concern about XBL and you'll die if you ever to lose it then stay with unmodded boxes and play originals.
