Details of the complaint:

This probably going to be a long post, put I'll try to keep it as simple as possible.

ABC scam by tanjack007

9th Jan 2016 - tanjack007 opened a thread selling MSI GTX750Ti. Then I PMed him to deal and agreed for RM380 including postage for that graphic card.

10th Jan 2016 - I transferred RM380 to Maybank account given by him:

101049446400 Koh Dee Kiat

I did a research for that account number & name before, but no suspicious details as that account owner (Koh Dee Kiat) seems to be a legit seller at other forums. So Later that day, I noticed tanjack007 still doesnt close the thread, and active online most of the time. I tried to contact LYN staff / trade enforcer on that night but no reply.

11th Jan 2016 - PMed tanjack007 back, asking for tracking no. Later he did give a tracking, but seems to be a fake one. I also received another PM from other forumer, Prinny and then I can confirm both of us got scammed.

12th Jan 2016 - Contacted the account owner (Koh Dee Kiat) through Facebook (Got his details at other forums) demanding refund.

13th Jan 2016 - Received a phone call from Koh Dee Kiat, and he then explain that tanjack007 bought Chinese Yuan (CNY) currency from him through Alipay. Asked him to resolve the matter with Alipay, but Alipay cannot recover that money back due to their policy. He did mention he received 4 separate payment from tanjack007, all buying CNY currency.


I know I wont get my money back, I just want to alert the others with this scam.

Note for buyer: Search the seller account number, name and also username if you want to buy something. My mistake- I didnt search for tanjack007 username since he also got a dispute thread before (but inactive) and he used different banking account. Search using the forum search engine & also Google.

site:lowyat.net <space> <what you want to search>

Note for seller: Insist on receipt / proof of transaction. If someone bought something from you but paid separately from different account number, he is probably doing ABC scam. You can trace who banked in to you by the receipt. Be a responsible seller.
