Another shot with South Peak. The stars move a little due to longer exposure..too cold to notice it when taking the pic.

Great attempt and effort!

You could do a simple calculation the next time you shoot. With the crop factor of fuji, you're essentially shooting at 15mm, which turns out the maximum exposure time in order not to get star trail is 30 seconds.

500 / (10mm x 1.5 crop factor) = 33.3333seconds (exposure time)

Sometimes fishers will camp there.

Alternatively at roadside here maybe able to get milkyway as well, but we opted not to because power cable and pole is just above us, may not suitable for wide angle and pointing upwards.
