I bought the "normal" version - 3GB RAM 64GB storage model.
![]() What I can say after 2 days of usage (read: it's only two days): - Phone feels great in hand. The slim sides make it very easy to hold. Better than my 6S. - Screen is very sharp BUT a little to the yellowish side. You can change the preset @ Cool/Standard/Warm but if you go to cool, it's too blue. Am on standard but it's too yellow. - Phone is very snappy. Never encountered lag thus far. - Camera sucks. Took a couple of photos and noticed that it is very noisy (compared to my 6S). - Battery is enough to last me one day on normal usage. iPhone is dead every time in the afternoon in comparison. Will continue to use it and see if there's more to share. |

OK maybe I shouldn't say the camera sucks. But,
1. Really noisy if take indoor shots (even when brightly lit) 2. Outdoor pics is decent (see below) 3. Night pics maybe tonight I try again Pictures below were taken this morning @ 8.30AM++ right from my room window. Environment was sunny with enough light. ![]() ![]() ![]() Note: Image size has been reduced for easier upload. But technically, if you often upload to Facebook/Instagram, this is the quality you will get. This post has been edited by evilbun: May 13 2016, 01:52 PM |

QUOTE(deadravel @ May 13 2016, 12:55 PM) its a flagship but still. 2k flagship cant compare with 3k flagship Agree with you on the above.imho, the camera of mi5 still far from s7 , ipon 6s plus. eventhou mi5 have optical stabilization, but the picture come out still above average only. but normal fb instagram whatsapp post picture no problem, cant see any diff also. lel So true. The Mi5 is a great phone. Everything is good, except for the subpar camera. But yeah like you and I mention, if upload to FB/IG then no need to worry so much about it. |

Hey guys, I was just wondering, does the Mi 5 if purchased from China, work on local telcos back in Malaysia?
I am having the one and only version of Mi5 being sold here - TD LTE. I noticed from the first post that the thread starter is also using a TD LTE model. However, can someone confirm with me if 4G will run on this device? Thanks! |

QUOTE(sss2sssss @ Jul 13 2016, 05:57 PM) Now Mi 5 should can be working in all network (call 全网通 from Chinese), it usually got write that word on the box, can u photo ur back of the box? Hey! Thank you so much! That's EXACTLY the same model as mine. My AP set Mi 5 also have that sticker which i tear off already: [attachmentid=7081650] But in fact it's support all the network in China: [attachmentid=7081668] Which only 中国联通 is using the both FDD and TD-LTE network in China, so in here we can use LTE also, here's my Digi connected with LTE network: [attachmentid=7081690] And yes, it is indeed 全网通 ! I'm using Ch ina Unicom (中国联通) here in China and the 4G network is amazing. Just hoping for the same back home. But seriously, thanks for helping me out a bunch. I've read alot that TD-LTE isn't supported so I was getting kinda worried but now that you mention DiGi works fine on your model (which is exactly same as mine), I do not have to worry about it anymore. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 13 2016, 06:44 PM) QUOTE(LalaluSan @ Jul 13 2016, 05:24 PM) By right time division (TD) doesn't work in Malaysia. Mind screenshot your phone info? ( setting > about phone > *tap few times on internal memory > Set preferred network type). Thanks for the input guys. Looks like it works as confirmed by sss2sssss.I'll be bringing mine back to use and get my friend one too. The Mi5 is REALLY expensive in MY. The 64GB version here is cheaper than the 32GB one Xiaomi MY is selling |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 13 2016, 09:57 PM) Yup!I've got myself the 3GB/64GB Mi5 at RMB2299 (official price by Xiaomi). At today's conversion rates that should be RM1380. The 3GB/32GB Mi5 is going for RMB1999 here. That should be RM1200 but you guys are paying RM1549 for it. At that price, you could have got the 64GB variant and have RM170 in spare change But of course, I understand - different country cannot compare la This post has been edited by evilbun: Jul 14 2016, 08:55 AM |
