I believe what you said are true. Because Xiaomi is the company that like to fullfilled all fans wish, some like front fingerprint, some like back fingerprint. So instead of piss off both type of fans, they will make it for all their fans. I still remember that time Xiaomi Mi3 got Nvdia Tegra SoC and Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

I bought the xiaomi redmi 2. The camera is terrible. The os is also quite buggy. Connection was timing out sometimes on wifi and data.

I am waiting for this phone as well. Using Mi3 for almost 2 years. Don't see how it that worse than Samsung or any other android brand. In fact I prefer MIUI than others.

1) Because is Mi Brand, want SD Card slot? There you go for Redmi Brand.
2) App Drawer on MIUI? Because MIUI are designed at the begining without App Drawer. lol maybe future will add alternative option. MAYBE Lar...
3) Fast Update? MIUI guarantee developer weekly MIUI Fast Update, not Android version. If want that, might as well buy Nexus.

I use MIUI ROM since Samsung Galaxy S2 era, there are something MIUI they won't change because of fundamental.

I believe they removed the external SD slot because of the slow access time... it could simply be because they want their phones to feel faster...

With SD Slot is good for store video/photo/music/documents purposes, but even with marshmallow allow to adapt SD Slot as primary internal storage, still won't as fast as UFS 2.0

Xiaomi Mi5 will be released next week, I'm looking forward to this phone.
