I would recommend either Lenovo or Dell if your focus is gaming as well. I have sold quite a few to my customer for these two brands and they are very strong for their after sale support (no hair pulling moments for you)

As for screen, usually they have only 15.6", which if you don't mind, it's pretty good for gaming (always an option to add in a monitor later in the future). You might want to reconsider 17" because it is REALLY bulky and very hard to carry around.

Instead of SSD, maybe you should opt for Hybrid. Yes, SSD is sexy but you do not want to sacrifice speed for space. Get a hybrid. Its the best of both world.
