Hi guys. Need to ask a bit. Sometimes, i see shops name in the signboard like "zoom tyres " but there's a little company names states " dimiliki oleh zoom sport " like dat.
My question is, which need to register with SSM? How can put shop name different from business registered name?

The zoom sports own other shops and bussiness such as zoom mini market, zoom chill & bar, zoom travel agency, zoom reflexology, zoom production etc

Company name and brand name is two different thing.

Company name is the official name for the entity, while brand name is the name of a certain stuff.

Company name registered under SSM while brand name is registered under MyIPO (Intellectual Property Office)

As a metaphorical example, you IC name is William, but when you go on stage, you are known as Liam.

Yes, shop name can use brand name without any problem.

An very good example is McDonald's in Malaysia, where the company that own McDonald is actually Golden Arches Restaurants Sdn Bhd

Just like SSM, you need to go MyIPO office and pay for the search/inquiry

SSM can check registered company names once u registered to e-ssm.info.

IF you had tried e-ssm info services before, you will know the name search function only work as best as a 1980 library index system.

Yes, must be identical match then will only show.

Also, some company have registered multiple name in different languages.

Also, if your name is vague acronym, such RW Enterprise, might get rejected even tho nobody register that, because it resemble of Resort World Bhd.

So end up most people will go counter and pay for the name search, and change/amend accordingly with ssm officer

buat bisnes apa? if u bisnes lke Qu Puteh u go register. if just name on signboard not first priority register.
