Hi, can anyone knows what is the reason behind for such aircon piping? Aircon is located on right side and why can't the pipe goes cut across the wall? Why need to down then across? I feel extra turn, chances are making the water trap inside the pipe.

Giving no chance for water to flow back to the aircond.

I don't see the problem for the piping design.

If there are any electrical wiring, better do it now. Standard practice, wiring come down from ceiling.

Air cond drain pipe shall be as short as possible.
And try not to conceal > 2ft, unless you like to hack every now and then.

thats a damn long aircon pipe... there will be water trapped in the pipe, but wont be much. dont think its anything to worry about. would be better if he didnt put the pipe down the middle of your wall though doh.gif make sure you remember the height of the pipe when you wanna hang paintings and stuff like that...

Weird design bro. Doesn't make sense that they did not choose the shortest route.
What are they trying to avoid?
Or they just wanna overcharge you?
Piping is very expensive. Choose wisely.

Should be just a slanting line. No need to do 2 90 degree turns. Unless want to avoid something.

TS, you also can consider to switch the location of your aircond to the nearer point of your drain out point. (Which very likely to be at the left side of your picture.)

Standard practice, same for wiring and plumbing. if you simply zig zag the piping, electrical etc. It's harder to predict where the wall can be drilled without affecting existing wiring , piping.
But i think the straight line should have a slight slanting, maybe 3 degree of angle.

Have to be slanting to create gravity flow.
