i just got updated to 1803 yesterday and the wifi keeps disconnecting itself, then i roll back to 1709 and it works fine again.
but windows update always reminding the new update and if i update it will go to 1803 and the problems appear again.
i tried to search for update after 1803 using the windows update but it stated it is the latest version? the search is bugged and can't detect 1809 or 1903?
is 1903 free from the wifi problem?

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jul 22 2019, 04:50 PM) Currently running on my 6 year old HP Probook 6470B with 1903 and didn't face any WiFi issues. All running well The Windows Update Settings section at times will take a few tries to detect the next upgrade path which is a waste of time in my opinion. Try running the Microsoft Windows Update Assistant and jump straight to 1903. unfortunately 1903 doesn't work for me and it screw up the wifi as well, even after a clean installation. damn this shit aduhai... roll back and disable the update by group policy and shut down the update service This post has been edited by pandah: Jul 25 2019, 12:56 AM

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 19 2023, 12:00 AM) yes, it's closed last month, officially. the free upgrade from w10 to 11 is still valid. you had 8 years to do that. i'm surprised that you can still miss it. i only found out today got an older laptop that still works from someone else, i tried upgrading and it went through but activation not valid. Then the go back to windows 7 does not appear, i was thinking the installation was bugged, clean install win 7 and then try to upgrade again and failed miserably. and then i am here... this time the go back to windows 7 option is there so i will just restore it... is there any reliable antivirus still supporting windows 7? maybe a browser as well, since chrome already dropped support for windows 7...

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 6 2024, 01:42 PM) you should look it up with search engines for antivirus with w7 support. i believe there are still few that do that. i mainly use the built-in windows security. unfortunately mse for win7 already eol, may try bitdefender or avast if still function. On a second tot, even if unactivated, seems like restricted for personalisation setting like back ground only. For the better security, just use with restricted functions until it die may not be a bad idea
