My PC missed the upgrade as the process kept throwing the 0x80073B92 - 0x20009 error over the past few days.
Looks like my laptop would only enjoy it. |

QUOTE(horns @ Jul 30 2016, 09:26 AM) maybe there are many users doing last-minute upgrade rush i guess. Thanks, I'll give it a try as other workarounds have been too inconvenient.free upgrade is still offered to people who use assistive technologies, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibili...indows10upgrade |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Jul 30 2016, 11:16 AM) After several trial and errors, the installation worked. If you have an SSD (with Windows) and a HDD, disconnect the HDD before proceeding with the installation. Else, it would throw some error code and you'd have to re-download the whole thing again. |

QUOTE(horns @ Jul 31 2016, 12:42 PM) i think it's due to old os that somehow messed up something during previous installations, way before upgrade. if you make ssd as dedicated os drive from start, usually it will work, and you don't need to disconnect any storage disks. When I purchased an SSD, I cloned the Windows 8.1 OS from HDD to it before removing the Windows folder from the HDD.Could be the cause This post has been edited by UserU: Jul 31 2016, 12:46 PM |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Jul 31 2016, 02:47 PM) Great to hear that. Definitely like it, as it's a combination of W7+8. Feels good to have the Start bar back compared to the tile stuffs that block the whole screen. You like the new Windows 10? What's yr previous OS? I like Windows 10 because got many new features. Both devices were using W8.1, but my laptop was upgraded to W10 more than half-a-year ago. |

QUOTE(TXSim @ Jul 31 2016, 03:02 PM) Ya. You may take a look of more features here Haha, agreed. When I first used it (before I discovered Charms), it was a total pain to locate that thing. Most people used Windows 8 and 8.1 have the most complaint is Shutdown button is missing, hard to find it. QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Jul 31 2016, 03:18 PM) should be Mainly due to privacy concerns. But without MS "snooping", we wouldn't have those hotfixes that address issues.right now mainly are company not willing to upgrade only else I no idea why don't want upgrade it since is free after upgrade + clean install = hassle free will do again after 2 days (anniversary update) |
