QUOTE(horns @ Nov 15 2017, 09:22 PM) maybe they have their distribution service upgraded to be more ready for the update this time around (but most probably due to other reasons too haha) yea true so far so good, working fine on both my laptop and desktop but I notice that the area that display drive seems shorter compare to 1703, at first I thought is my laptop issue since I set the scaling to 125%, but it also happened to my desktop as well ![]() |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 16 2017, 12:05 AM) for me as long as all features that i need are there i'm good. I didn't bother the space, wait it automatically disappeared from my ssd yeah it's ok to keep the rollback option for a while, until everything is good. the occupied space will be freed up once it's expired. love the task manager so much, can check my GPU usage other than that, those new feature still need to slowly check it out |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 24 2017, 09:32 PM) ah nice thanks a lot for the more complete how-to haha My laptop is vulnerable as well, waiting Dell to release the update -- my i9 main rig is vulnerable lol the rest is ok this is the second time this year that vulnerabilities were found in intel's ME. it has become one important point for considerations when you need to deploy servers that run 24/7. Btw does changing processor need to reinstall Windows 10? I only know need to reinstall it if change the motherboard as well *change processor within same socket |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 29 2017, 11:52 AM) usually you don't need to reinstall windows if you just changed the processor. however i will just do it because i like to start everything from scratch lol I see, but I thought is a must to reinstall the os if change motherboard eventhough using same socket for motherboard, it is better to reinstall the os and let it start with everything fresh, even if newer os like w10 is capable of adjusting itself to cope with the new mobo. because if I am not mistaken when boot up windows might detect hardware changes then can't get activated right ? as Microsoft register our hardware ID based on our hardware, small changes like ram, hdd/ssd, graphic card doesn't make differences QUOTE(g104 @ Nov 29 2017, 12:29 PM) lol how you know I change from 4460 to 4790? |

QUOTE(horns @ Nov 29 2017, 05:53 PM) not necessarily if you changed mobo. like what you said, it's the activation part that fails, which happens after the os is booted successfully. if you have legit retail key you can just call up microsoft for help for reactivation. hahaha where got retail keyall free upgrade from windows 7 or 8.1 anyway thanks for the help |

QUOTE(g104 @ Nov 29 2017, 07:01 PM) I'm lazy to format. I'd format when the next big update from Microsoft or I faced an issue. but for esport game 4 core 4 thread is more than enough I'm looking for a Samsung SSD (min. 256 GB), then I'll upgrade it. Now, I'm testing the side effects after I merged the recovery partition. (Learning) 4C/8T really is the minimum entry for the gaming. |

QUOTE(g104 @ Nov 29 2017, 08:43 PM) off course QUOTE(horns @ Nov 29 2017, 08:44 PM) as per their official faq for w10 upgrade iinm, you can still call ms for reactivation assistance, if you're upgrading from retail version of w7/8.x to w10. you still have 1x transfer license right wow really? but not sure my desktop can transfer or not as my desktop license (windows 7 license given by my university), no idea is considered as retail or not eventhough can't transfer, I will just buy an oem copy from garage sales / lelong |

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 22 2018, 06:59 PM) not sure about this. is there a chance that the .gif file consists only one frame? if yes, then it will not animate. have you tried open the same .gif with web browser instead? how to check whether it only consists 1 frame? details and file info only show dimensions, width, height and bit depth and yes, do try open the same .gif file with browser, they are working fine |

QUOTE(horns @ Jan 22 2018, 07:56 PM) if it's working in web browser that means it has more than one frame. maybe you should use the feedback hub to report the bug. before that, i think you should look up with search engines if there are similar cases already thanks, just tried on my desktop, same issue the .gif files open using Photos not animate at allbut open using browser are working fine even use my brother laptop also same issue, so I think is either the .gif file got problem or Photos got issue since 3 computers also facing same issue |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Jan 23 2018, 10:45 AM) Browser and image viewer use different rendering engines, not surprised they botch it up. I see, so that the reason some .gif not animated when open using Photos?I had bsod every time attempted to upgrade, and win 10 just keep unrolling and updating, lol as so far I test lot of .gif files open using browser all of them are working fine |
