There's some CPU that says cannot support V1709 like some Atom CPUs.
How about older stuff like Core2Quad?

I have installed 1709 on Core 2Quad Q8400 with MSI G31 & G41 boards with 4GB ram. No problems so far. In fact I might probably be able to assemble 2 more used rigs with same spec to sell. sweat.gif

Slap some cheapo SSD on it and it will perform way smoother than any low cost OEM-pc on sells today with shit tons of bloatware & slower than normal hdd.
Sadly SSD price still never drops, 30GB~40GB still goes for around RM100 but that size is enough for W10 alone.

Got a Dell C2Q here waiting to test, but lacking the goat-damn WTF Dell proprietary-DVI display out vmad.gif

Anybody here doing coding or software development on Windows 10? I tried to make Coldfusion 11 to work with W10, but unfortunately no successful method yet. Or maybe I haven't try to look hard enough.

Now changing to Laravel for better supports.

Mind to share what kind of development you guys doing? Using Virtual Box or VMWare or others?

firstly, have you checked if w10 is supported for cf.11? i it's kind of old.

laravel is a good choice for many things, but still it depends on what services you are building.

i personally use virtualbox mainly. it has its limitations but for server-side developments it usually has not many issues.

not sure about this. is there a chance that the .gif file consists only one frame? if yes, then it will not animate. have you tried open the same .gif with web browser instead?

if it's working in web browser that means it has more than one frame. maybe you should use the feedback hub to report the bug. before that, i think you should look up with search engines if there are similar cases already

Browser and image viewer use different rendering engines, not surprised they botch it up.
I had bsod every time attempted to upgrade, and win 10 just keep unrolling and updating, lol

CF11 just got supported for W10 recently, following the guide didn't work for me.
We just implement CF11 for the past 2 years, and we're going to kill the development process due to lack of expertise.
I'm trying to keep the project alive, so we can keep using existing CF11 app.

Meanwhile, some project member already began with PHP development of the same app.
So I need to make sure both CF11 and PHP running on my PC for development and debugging.
At least I can run my code on my PC instead keep pushing to server for a minor changes.

oh it's too bad. cf shouldn't be picked up in new projects already because of many reasons. (many newer techs that can replace them relatively easily; local recruitment issues; etc.)

for existing cf11 apps in production, vm + web api services might be able to help. for new apps, just use other more popular platforms. it will save you and team a lot more time.

btw you can run a vm hosting your cf11 apps locally also (if w10 support screwed up)

yeah, we've been monitor few rapid developments platform to stick with. we'll be rebuilding existing app and enhance where it needed.

I'm not familiar with vm, but I'll give a look to it. Thanks
