hi guys, just wanted your opinion. Recently i noticed in a lot of ID show rooms and also in a lot of ID from HabitatMY, they are using the type of ball (like in the picture) type of downlight for almost the entire house (living dining and kitchen) instead of those traditional 12W 4" led downlight..... any pros and cons of it ?from the look... it does look nice.. but was wondering if it is too "focused" ....

Not sure about the pro but the bad thing is if 1 side of the light is dead you have to change both

Can't really see from your picture but if I guess correctly you are asking about something like a tiny spotlight MR16 bulb?
The difference is the effect. Those normal downlight lights the room evenly. They are also much brighter. The eyeball you are talking about uses a MR16 bulb with different angle spread of the the light beam. Instead of an even light, you get pools of lights. My apartment uses these kind of eyeballs. I much prefer pools of light as compare with even lighting |

Just wonderting all this "eyeball" led when uses in the living and dining area replacing those conventional downlight, how it feels.. sharp on the eyes. stinging to most. eyeball usually spread spectrum very concentrated. meaning u get a streak of light instead of the usual whole area. so the focus beam good for highlighting something, like a display vase or painting or some art thing, or some diy structure thing. |

My indon installer go and bundle up the wires and was about to tie wrap it. That's why you see that the cable is not running smooth and rounded. I had to " straighten" it out and bend it accordingly but it's very difficult since the table is in the way. How much it costs for the kitchen cabinet and the peninsular ya? QUOTE(parsona @ Jan 13 2016, 01:10 AM) Many reasons. My track light using MR16 so GU10 is not going to work. I prefer separate driver and led. GU10 have buildin driver. Once rosak have to throw the whole thing. Separate driver for MR16 only cost less than Rm10 Their size is not standard and most wont fit your light fixtures properly due to their size. One more thing, I prefer changing a bad MR16 using 12v than to touch a GU10 using 240v 😅 This post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 13 2016, 07:55 AM |
