Hey guys,
Im looking for a budget electric grinder right now. Home use. Aeropress, v60 & Clever dripper. After did some research, it came down to two choices below: 1. Nivona CafeGrano 130 from Beanshipper. Price: RM600++. Can't found the review for the exact same model online though. But from the design I believe it is a re-branded Capresso Infinity. Capresso's review was pretty good. Great value for filter. 2. Mini Ek43 knock off/600N Feima/Feiying/Akira etc (So much name) Price: RM300 ~ RM400. Depends on where i buy it. Advantage over the Nivona above is obviously the price. Almost half. & I see many recommendations from you guys on this. But the problem is there are so many different version of this. Especially in Lazada. When I search exactly the name Feima/Feiying, there's no more. Sometimes weird name & even no name/brand at all. So worry i bought a bad one. Or is it all the one that pop up with the same design is basically the same quality as the one you guys mention in this thread? So need help from you guys on deciding this. Which one?. Or any other suggestion? Looking forward for the opinions! =D |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Mar 2 2017, 02:46 PM) My vote goes to the 600N. Thanks for the opinion lowkl. Highly appreciated. U can say the consistency was pretty good right for my usage?Reasons: - 60mm flat burrs! That outshoots my RM2k Mignon (though the comparison ends there) - solid metal construction. The only plastic is the hopper. That being said, my 600N did fail, after bulk grinding over 1kg nonstop (yes I'm an idiot) and causing the little rubber bearing cover inside to melt. I have since superglued a regular washer in its place, so it's working though consistency feels a bit off. You are right that there is uncertainty whether you are getting the "original" 600N (pretty ironic, since the 600N is pretty much a rip-off in the first place), for RM 300 it may be a bet you are willing to take. QUOTE(spacelion @ Mar 2 2017, 02:47 PM) Im using the 2nd one, Golden Bull. Mine the knob broken d, because I unscrewed it to remove the burr for cleaning and dunno how to put back Woww. 150. That's really cheap. Not gonna regret if its no good. You can also get Welhome ZD-15 from lelong, the seller shop is in Tmn Fadason Kepong. Yeah i did come across zd-15 on mudah. But cannot seem to find review for it. Anyone ever try it before? |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Mar 11 2017, 11:44 AM) There are self service grinders available at IKEA, both at their Mutiara Damansara branch as well as their Cheras. Really meant for their own beans but hey they are self-service..... Ikea are selling beans right? Is it any good? How much is it?Are the beans from a chain like Starbucks or Coffee Bean? If so just bring it to one of their branches and they will grind it for free. Lastly, where are you located? Perhaps some forummer with a commercial grinder will do you a favour..... QUOTE(lalala_lalala @ Mar 15 2017, 09:10 AM) Hi, Manual grinder using bosch drill? How you do it? What manual grinder you use? That technically an electric grinder. QUOTE(locoroco2 @ Mar 19 2017, 02:04 PM) I quite like the taste of the new Ikea dark roast beans that comes with two diff packaging, the brown packaging (RM15.90/250g) meant for drip machine vs Blue packaging (RM16.90/250g) for espresso brew such as moka pot (can see the big moka pot graphic covers the packing). Did some testing on dripping method, mixing the brown version with blue version (2:1 ratio) would give a bold and smooth Arabica note Just worries on the stale taste of the bean since the bean must be already been roast for a while already. No roast date, only expiry date on the packaging. Anyway since it is so cheap, will get it. If it's not that good, can just make cold brew! [attachmentid=8611708] Special notes: IKEA coffee is fully traceable, we can easily check the origin of their IKEA coffee online, using the UTZ/IKEA online tracer www.utz.org/IKEA , just need to enter the Expiry Date printed on the bag. Since 2008, all coffee at IKEA has been UTZ certified. The UTZ program includes farmers who generally gain higher coffee yields, have better incomes and better living conditions, and are concerned about protecting the environment. The organic farming methods that are used prohibit the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. These methods also secure good care of natural resources such as water, soil and air, and that the organic agricultural practices support biodiversity on farms and reduce climate impact. The 100% Arabica beans used for the new Ikea coffee range PÅTÅR are hand-picked, delivering a high quality product. To underline the Swedish heritage of IKEA, the taste profiles for PÅTÅR are inspired by Scandinavian coffee preferences; a full aroma with notes of fruits and chocolate. Give it a try Thanks for the info! |

Guys, need opinions. Since I dont really want to grind beans at d office, which one is better?
1. Grind & brew (Aeropress) at home around 6.30am, put it in thermos & drink it at d office around 9am. or 2. Grind beans at home around 6.30am & brew at d office (French press) just as i want to drink it around 9am. 😁😁😁 |
