Oh yes, the bes870 is a good aio. I'm just itchy la considering an upgrade. My only gripe is the steam is not very powerful. A temperature control would be a great addition too.

QUOTE(lowkl @ Oct 31 2016, 02:36 PM) Wah! Itching to spend money, aincha? heh heh.... Didn't expect a 2nd hand one to cost that much 😅... do u mind to pm where and much u got the Eureka Mignon for? What about the baratza? Any indicative price range?... like you, I prefer not to have bulky machine... not that I'm running a cafe lol- there's a secondhand Super Jolly selling on Mudah.my for RM 1550, advertised with new burrs. - you can check out an earlier forum posting by luvox who got a new Super Jolly from Taobao for less than RM 2k. - For me countertop space is at a premium, so ended up getting a Eureka Mignon (Mk2). Extremely happy with it. Quite a number of forumers also have this grinder. - if you can wait, the Baratza Sette looks drool-worthy . |

QUOTE(dilin @ Nov 7 2016, 10:43 AM) Anyone interested in my Super Jolly? New grinder incoming. Wow SJ upgrade to what?Optimized for single dosing (chute flap and doser funnel installed). [attachmentid=7967698] [attachmentid=7967699] With the Mini hopper and new burrs, which you don't need to season as it has seen some use, save you some beans. Still left 300+ kg in the burrs. Bean retention is minimal, ~0.5g. The doser eliminates clumping and there is no need for WDT. |

QUOTE(Castreal @ Nov 11 2016, 07:26 PM) Actually just today and tomorrow, the shipper express beans get an 11% discount. I'm good for 250 to 500g. Lemme know if u orderusually if I buy 250g Purveyor its at RM 39, or 156/kg. With the 11% promotion + buying 1 kg, we can get it at RM114.80 per KG. Divide that up 4 purchasers (250g each), its only RM 28.70 per 250g. Quite a good deal.. but only for today and tomorrow. I'm interested in Purveyor and Burundi Nduweyezu Ngozi if anyone is interested |

QUOTE(luvox @ Nov 29 2016, 06:37 PM) [attachmentid=8165394] Where to find f&n supplier store? I normally go for farm fresh, farm house or pura. Prefer farm fresh coz it's cheaper but doesn't seem to be available all of the time.[attachmentid=8165419] My favorite milk. Taste good, creamy, to drink it plain. I always go to my nearest F&N supplier store to buy them |

My new grinder with a new batch of beans...It's quite a messy grinder but allows better control of the grind size compared to the built in grinder on my bes870.
Btw if anyone want to share the Ona raspberry candy beans with me let me know. Roast date 5th December. The aroma is wonderful! Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Dec 15 2016, 11:58 PM) Congrats on the new grinder & welcome to the ever-growing Mignon2 club. Based on the photos, you got the maroon one, while sometime back there was a blue one. Mine's a bright yellow. Nice to have such lively colours grace the countertop. Thanks for sharing. Got method u have there.I ended up adopting a different method compared to most, in order to minimise/eliminate the mess. Instead of using a funnel, I grind into a small lab beaker first. Then once the dose size is measured out to the target, I tap the beaker on my hand towel, forming a nice puck. I then invert the beaker to let the puck slide out into the PF basket. A few taps and the puck disintegrates back into a pillowy mound, ready to be tamped. Surprisingly, I don't get inconsistent extractions. |
