Hey guys, just gotten into this coffee thing. Bought the v60 dripper and timemore gooseneck kettle. Looking for an entry level hand grinder and scale, any to recommend? Am looking at the hario skerton, timemore chestnut or the mavo from taobao. Mavo and timemore are similar but timemore is mix steel and plastic while mavo is fully steel. For scale, does the normal kitchen precision scale work or need scale specially for coffee? This post has been edited by chinti: May 31 2020, 06:12 PM

QUOTE(bergstein @ Jun 4 2020, 03:34 AM) Anyone using Timemore Chestnut C1? Is it a good buy for its price? RM210-250 seems not bad. Is the plastic component/thread concerning? Currently using Hario Mini Slim and it gives horrible result with light roast Edit: Apparently there's a C2 version coming up, the bean canister is now aluminium instead of plastic. Perhaps I should wait for a while. C2 is available on taobao d and there was a 6.6 sales tht just ended yesterday, lighthouse roastery & academy will be bringing in C2 in about a month oh and good morning everyone This post has been edited by chinti: Jun 4 2020, 08:56 AM

QUOTE(bergstein @ Jun 4 2020, 10:59 AM) oh dang I missed that, how much was it during 6.6 sales? I messaged lighthouse roastery and they haven't reply me, you seems to have insider news here after deduction + shipping was around RM180~190, not that much different so i decided to wait for lighthouse roastery since if anything wrong with the grinder easier to contact also

just realized directly putting hot water on a scale will affect the reading. the reading tends to reduce after a bit of time
