I am not sure how your house layout is but as far as i know not everyone need every corner of the house plastered, some areas like balcony, utility / store room or entrance area..

Hi all, would like to get your opinion on below quotation from ID, whether he marked up excessively or not.

I knew that his M&E work and plaster ceiling work is expensive compare to others. Already planning to challenge his quotation and if he cannot lower down the price,  i will bring my own contractor to do that scope.

Lighting fixtures price i can control, I will buy myself not gonna let him buy.

Im not sure about the carpentry price though. Does the carpentry price is way too much or just slightly pricier? Im okay if the price is 10%-20% more than market as long as I get the quality and after sales service that ia expected.

Yup, balcomy, yard, entrance excluded. This only covers interior of the house (living, hallway, bedroom etc).

Anyway the rate is rm8/sqft which i find costlier than others. Im not sure what makes different plaster ceiling contractor charge more than the others. Is there difference in material? Workmanship? Design? Or just simply mark up?

What is the normal rate for plaster ceiling? 3 per sq ft?

normal rate with good workmanship after done no headache
price rate should Rm 3.8 to Rm 4.5 per sqft .
if Rm 1.8 to Rm 2.5 erm you have to sit site there monitor better . 
cos normally we wan good review or Recommand we much provide better product ,
instead of beaten price ,
cos now we work transparent  , like simply google search can get the profile , company profile , or comment . 

abit difficult to compare , cos quotation no mention the size of cabinet ,
but my experience not compare the price ，
cos cheap price sure provide lower quality service or no professional worker .
like plaster ceiling got Rm 2 sqft got Rm 1.8 sqft , also got Rm 4 sqft the different is after done the plaster ceiling not flat
exspecial in lighting effect design .

I agree with the point above. I did compare the carpentry price with others and I found it is just a tad bid pricey, but I am okay as they assured me with the workmanship and after sales service, the ID even bring me to the cabinet factory and I see they have proper equipment, workshop and even showroom so I'm quite satisfied with the price that he quote.
