haha, its funny how game A (that focuses on gore+violence) will usually outsell game B (a family friendly game) even when game B is clearly a better game. GTA games are rated for 17 & above, yet i bet a million of its fans are 16 & below tongue.gif

parents of young children, i salute all of you for bringing up kids in today's mad mad world notworthy.gif

I always believed that if you raised your children right, there is no way in hell they will be influenced by video games. Its all about educating them whats right and wrong.

ZIO FTW!

I saw Mobius play Resident Evil 3 and 2 when I was like 6 and I always watched no matter how violent.

It works this way IMO:
Uneducated Kids - Educate themselves by portraying how video games work thinking it's right.
Educated Kids - Play games for fun, and still concentrate on schooling and grow up to be mid class dudes with Xbox 1080 themed homes.

whats wrong with both. people views of smoking is that it is nothing wrong, even tho there's hundred of health problem you can get from it, the problem of quitting, unable to concentrate if not smoking, not to mention your life shorter by it, and 2nd hand smoker problem. pimping almost the same with smoking, except that you die faster. cheers.gif

bah, "the media influencing our child" is just an excuse made up by lazy western parents so that they can blame somebody when their child messes up..

I mean last time I was swimming in the clubhouse and the swimming pool had this tall rock thning in the middle that houses the slide, and i saw this white kid jump from the top of this into the swimming pool where many ppl play around whilst the father watched..

one of two things could have happened.. his impact could have been really strong and hit the bottom of thepoolwhich i think was about 4-5 ft at that point.. and two hit someone.. yet the parent did nothing.. but if that happens can you guess what that parent will say ?

"I am going to sue this clubhouse for not posting a sign telling my kids not to jump off this dangerous spot" Thats what makes columbine killers and serial killers, not video games..

Violence in videogames corrupt children? What a load of shit.

I played Doom and Wolfenstein 3D when I was 5 years old, and have been playing videogames ever since, but until now I'm still the first to run away/hide at the sight of major injuries/bleeding. Heck I can't even watch violent shows without at least cringing wacko.gif and I avoid slasher films altogether.

And I'm a pretty diplomatic person in real life too.

i mean its a really simple choice for them to choose :

1) I failed as a parent
2) somebody corrupted my child
3) I failed as a parent

Point taken, i've been uppercutting ppl with Ryu for ages but am a real 'chicken' in real life... smile.gif

However, i do object to the overtly sexual content in certain games, those are NOT meant for kids...
