if i not mistaken, you will charge with 20% Import tax and 10% Sales Tax. i never import any poker or gambling stuff before.. sometime they will charge extra one if your item is under certain category. e.g. Medical liquid will got tax extra because under dangerour goods.

Hi,

The tariff should be under heading 9504.
Duty 10%, Sales tax 10%

There is nvr such as case that because it is DG, got extra tax. I've handled various DG shipments, some are duty tax free smile.gif

Most of the time, duty and sales tax are there to protect local industry/manufacturer. Some are imposed as "sin" tax such as cigs and liquor.

First, you must find out what category your imported stuffs are under. Then find out the tax amount if there are any.

If the amount involved is very little then just pay the tax. No point arguing with those people.

If the amount is a lot, then you can get some "agents" to help you "bypass" tax. There are these people who specialize in handling imports for you. Of course you need to pay them also but it should be less than the tax amount.

Industry standard, half of payable duty and tax wink.gif Of coz it is negotiable depends on how strong the "cable" is between the agent and u-know-who, as well as how hungry is the u-know-who.

In the end, for frequent importers - based on your own experience and agents you are comfortable and satisfied with. For 1st timers, GOOD LUCK!!
