i've been trying hard to maintain my gold or silver cards from ancient days ..its hard..cos they always try to renew it to plat above. cos i like gold.. low annual fee.

erm.. gold can 6figure also le.

why not sure. i told them i want my gold card back. they complied.

of coz increased limit lor when they upgrade it. i dunno who would want to accept plat with lowly 8- 10k limit wor.

yup some need some dont need.
those need annual fee already cancelled. example my world mc i cancel before they wanna charge me >1k for it.

but some of those cash back so called "plat" cards (no fees n low CL) not bad lor like cimb/uob/ocbc ti.
i enjoy it also cos got money back wor.. shiok.
cos the traditional "evergreen" points card also lost its conversion value adi.. no point keep those points when spending.

but some do still give points when doing balance transfer monthly repayment amount. so no complaints there too..

yeah cos no upside using world MC (annual fee >1k) compared to my ancient gold (foc AF).
i mean like when hold the card pass to merchant also not like got any prestige feeling or anything...

now got those fake or tumpang glamour plat class cards.. usually low 5-8k limit wan..not real 20k level plat card.. and tied to some cash rebate package..

i only managed swipe for downpayment when i bought the teana. then use 0% to pay in 12mths also

this was in 2011 le. sold it in 2013.. which is lucky cos nissan RV like shiat after 3years.

trust me, plenty of such people around. quite many old timers scrooge their way to 7digit bank balance.

for me, its more like looking at maintenece and depreciation per year. since i rotate cars every 2-3years.. so dont feel like wanna lose 100k when i dispose it 3years later. or lose 20k to repair with a recon/2nd hand DSG gearbox.

there are many ways to do it. at the time got 0% Balance transfer no fees, so i used that way.
