There's still likely some\many local will play there.
Because Streamyx suc-k, connection performance to foreign sites are not constant among users. Those users who can't get good ip range can give a try there. |

What makes you have the right to flame your own local gamer pals?
You are more qualified? You plays better? You are more high up so you can look down on local gamers? it disgust me to see such discrimination here thinking that you all are better then the rest. YOU yourself are a Malaysian player as well, instead of thinking of ways to make the gaming scene better, you guys opt to just step on it and say thing like " oh no....Malaysian RO gamers again!! no no, i am a mature player , mature player plays foreign servers! noobs/young kids plays local servers!" Talking about a slap in your own face. I do agree we don't have confidence on our local hosts/service providers as my self is one too, but putting the blame on local gamers is just an selfish accusation. Don't be a jerk. And I see most of the people posting here are baseless. The funniest part is i see people here start commenting on our standard of English. LoL? This is Malaysia/Singapore. Be proud to be one. Don't be a follower. |

QUOTE(plaz @ Dec 15 2006, 11:33 AM) What makes you have the right to flame your own local gamer pals? Thanks but no thanks. I've raid with Malaysians before and I've to admit they are one of the best players in their class. So there is no way we are looking down at ourselves. Its just too common for Malaysians in WoW US servers to have their standard of English dropping a level when they know they are chatting with another M'sian. I'm sure you have experienced it yourself and I admit I'm guilty of that too. In the end, all Malaysians in my raiding guild voted not to crap out our English because the rest of the raid were complaining (as we spilled over into raid chat) for us to stop it LOL. It was so funny. You are more qualified? You plays better? You are more high up so you can look down on local gamers? it disgust me to see such discrimination here thinking that you all are better then the rest. When I said most of the local sucks, I was not referring to their gaming quality as I would probably get owned regardless. What I'm referring to is their attitude, you can try playing with those kids and see. Every kind of curse can come out of them =)
I play for fun, they play like their family's life is at stake. Win or lose also they still insult you anyway, so you get the point =) |

Cost wise if its cheaper to pay per month, lets say RM 20 I'd be willing to switch any day. Heck I'll even call all my old classmate from primary to uni to play and form guilds.
Primary deterrent from non MMORPG gamers is just the price needed to pay to play. They still have a strong stigma against it. But once they're hooked with the right game like WoW and the right price they're never going back. |

Well probably because we seem to be the only ones with a wide variety of curses ranging from all kinds animal species to relative related ones. Any other curses from foreigners would be tame compared to ours and even then its not as much. |

I think the initial CD cost will drive away any Kids who want to play and leave the rest to more mature people.
anyways if they do open an SEA WOW server , i wont mind to reactivate my OLD wow account and give it a try. |

thyey arent rich, they demand from theyre parents money. If i was a parent and my kid wants to play WoW, I'D say NO go play a free MMo or sumthin or let me buy u a ps2 XD.
Better if i pay for my own time card XD Dun say only malaysia got corruption rasuah killing and stuf, every where oso got you dont see it coz ur not there...other ppl's cursing is just as bad and just as nasty. were all humans were all the same. any realm also got bad ppl that like to call any one noobs and curse alot. IF this malaysia server is up i wont mind creating a char innit and calling a few friends over coz More people from my timezone will be playing. Easier to get a party go raiding or sumthin . |

I've played Malaysian RO back when it was free and RYL and I find no problem with the community. Just that the chat is topped and spiced with the local slang thats all.
How's the local community like these days? |

If there really is going to be a wow server at sea...one thing for sure...i think its better that we form a guild of our own, and run instances etc with our own guild members... ^^

QUOTE(Grimwrath @ Dec 15 2006, 03:59 PM) thyey arent rich, they demand from theyre parents money. If i was a parent and my kid wants to play WoW, I'D say NO go play a free MMo or sumthin or let me buy u a ps2 XD. You dunno lah...kids are very rich nowadays..they can pay monthly fee and play WoW in cybercafe entirely...but then I live in Subang Jaya...the place where any new cybercafe will still be packed...Better if i pay for my own time card XD Dun say only malaysia got corruption rasuah killing and stuf, every where oso got you dont see it coz ur not there...other ppl's cursing is just as bad and just as nasty. were all humans were all the same. any realm also got bad ppl that like to call any one noobs and curse alot. IF this malaysia server is up i wont mind creating a char innit and calling a few friends over coz More people from my timezone will be playing. Easier to get a party go raiding or sumthin . |

Western countries do have a fair share of weird, stuck-up assholes la I believe. After playing online games for many years like yourselves I'm sure you guys have the same experience.
Playing with many malaysians and singaporeans and orang brunei etc people of the South East Asia, my experience have been a pleasant one. They're fun and funny. Playing with the people close to us is equally fun as playing with them westerners. The equation Ang Mo > Asian is just not applicable at all |

The truth is hard to swallow, but I have experience to deter me from playing on an all Malaysian/Singaporean server. Take mRO for example. I couldn't count how many inviduals I'd LOVE to track down, stake out their house and beat the shit out of them. From annoying ah bengs, to unrepentant kill-stealers, to ninja looters. They can ALL go to hell.
Do such people exist on NA WoW? Yeah, at a much, MUCH smaller percentage. I dare say my blood pressure is a LOT lower playing WoW when compared to my time on mRO. No one's looking down on local gamers here. Whenever I met a Malaysian/Singaporean player on Lightbringer I'd go "omg wow, nice to meet you!" and would get chatty from there on. But let's get real here ; usually only tasteful Malaysians/Singaporeans play on NA server. Why? I've no idea. Could be the price, could be the foreign environment not conducive to "*** lei amma xxx xxx xxxx" type of ah bengs. An local server with much reduced monthly fees WILL attract the unpleasant mRO crowd for the most part, whether you admit this or not. |

Not unless we're required to write a 10 page essay about WoW in perfect England as a requirement before signing up.

I think I won't be switching to local wow anytime soon because why? Like everyone here tend to agree that we learnt a lot from mRO. But, if the local wow management put down hard on gold farmers and be alertful, I might give it a shot. Look at mRO, the GMs there dont give a damn about whats going on, even let the botters run loose ruining the game. And the people's attitude in there, so proud being level 99 and showing off and destroying the market by inflating the prices. Why? It all boils down to the rampant botters.
Even if the monthly subscriptions are cheaper than NA version, but with the rampant bots, I wouldn't even want to play them as well. This post has been edited by nFiniteFX: Dec 27 2006, 09:30 PM |

Yeah soon, like 20 years later when you can download WOW in the retro-games section, when handphones have the processing capacity to be WOW servers.
Question of money (like just about everything else) - if it doesnt make money sense to do anything - it wont happen. Believe it or not there are some companies (with the possible exception of Malaysian GLCs) who actually do cost-benefit analysis which do not involve con-sultans producing a glossy ream of outright fiction.
