Better to get an insurance agent to understand your financial needs and recommend you the best plan. The best plan is the one that is tailored to suit your requirement.

Dear,

It depends on what insurance coverage are you looking for.

1 Medical
2 Income replacement
3 Debt cancellation
4 Saving for retirement / for children education
5 Protection / inheritance

Also depends on what coverage you currently have…

Let's just be real. Any insurance, it will have some similarity. What you need is a good servicing agent and he will try his best to instruct anything when claim issue comes. Take note that most insurance company are good but they usually get negative ratings at Facebook.

I don't know much about that but the clients of insurance must also know that this is a risk management company in another term. Don't expect much from returns unless you buy normal savings plan only.

I got a friend working directly with the insurance company, on top of their own staff coverage, they have an option to purchase a group policy that they can continue paying after leaving the company but the benefits are watered down, it's basically a group term life coverage normally available with any company out there.

Investment linked policy you can't take a loan from it, once you sell the unit considered you can't get it back at that price you've bought way earlier.

Traditional policy however allows you to take a loan from the policy as traditional policy guarantees you the return however because you need to use the amount earlier, they will charge you the interest rate of 7-8% for the amount taken.

7% ! thats high, i presume interest is daily basis? whereas repayment is ad hoc basis unlike bank right?

7% daily rest, it works like personal loan. However, if your policy have any Survival Benefit and Cash bonus, you may withdraw your Survival Benefit and Cash Bonus which will not have any interest.

yup yup good idea too. my fren is in need of money to settle cc debt, hence i am looking alternative for him. I worked in singapore insurance company, NTUC income, the loan interest here is only 4.5% daily, compound on yearly basis correct me if i am wrong below

my understanding is that you are not require to repay each month, a min fixed amount like normal bank personal loan / credit card, but instead it is ad hoc basis, you can pay back any amount any time, then your principal loan will reduce?
or is it a different case in malaysia?

Most of the APL is on daily rest.

Yes, you are not required to pay each month like fixed amount and it's on ad hoc basis. nod.gif

Just some random questions that pop up from my head, I'm currently having a medical insurance with AIA and I would like to ask:

1. If I was diagnosis with mild dengue that would not need me to be hospitalized but still required me to pay for my med, can I claim using my medical card?

2. If I accidentally fell and break my wrist and still no hospitalization required but required to put a plaster on. Will my insurance be able to pay for it?

3. This happens to one of my colleague, her wrist was diagnosis with crack and experience pain regularly and slowly becoming more serious due to long hour of sitting in front of computer and using the mouse which puts a lot of stress on her wrist. There are few remedies, one is through surgery and another is acupuncture. Her doctor recommended her acupuncture but the full treatment was more than 10k. She tried approaching her insurance company but they refuse her claim. So I was wondering does apply to AIA as well?

1. Need to be hospitalized and treat for outpatient dengue treatment to claim. This applies to all medical card unless or otherwise stated differently.

2. Let me be clear. You need to be admitted into the hospital to claim anything with your medical card.

3. Get the doctor to provide a recommendation letter for acupuncture and file the claim to AIA.

I've updated my comparison table as attached.

Seems like AIA has an advantage over Prudential and Allianz.

Thoughts / comments please?
