so i just want to confirm, is it normal for the sanyo eneloop quick charger to make hissing sound when charging? did a search and seems like most ppl do.

Without the sound, the charger is either imitation or spoilt.

It doesn't matter for the marketing naming.

Here is the specs for how long it takes to charge the AA batteries.

2AA = 110 minutes
4AA = 220 minutes

Is up to you for what do you think about the product. In future the charger will have longer charging time like the new ECO family pack 6 hours charger.

Longer charging time is better to batteries.
