The new model not coming in here any time soon. May be after 6, 9 or 12 months later.
1000 cycles is a lot for this moment. Usually normal rechargeable batteries which using rapid charging function can last about 500 cycles.

Small updates:

My initial impression for new released 1500 cycles AA battery has lower capacity is correct. l. If Sanyo want to prolong the charging cycle, storing longer time they have to reduce the battery capacity while maintains AA form factor.
