I just bought a new acoustic guitar Yamaha F310, I am a beginner, and I found that the action is quite high when I first bought it, so normally how much will a

person charge you when you take the guitar to them to adjust the action so that you can play easier.

i advise you need to send it for professional service/setup. average cost around RM100-200.

I would suggest that you try with the default settings first . Unless your guitar action is way out of factory tolerances , a lower setting may not always be the best option for a beginner's guitar. Decides after a few lessons , build up your fingers strength or try to do a comparison with similar instruments.

do note that lowering action would throw off intonation as well. so unless you know what you're doing, send it to a guitar tech.

i think yamaha has pretty good action, and also F310 is pretty much a recommended beginner's guitar by many. maybe you're just not used to it yet?
