i bought a refurbished laptop early this month.  it was faulty.  so i initiated a return. After lazada confirmed it was defective, I chose for a replacement.

the problem is the replacement is also defective.  can i still do a return on this replacement product?

The item is a C2D Dell Latitude (refurbished).  First item received, screen and wireless problem.  Now the replacement is also faulty - battery problem.

At 1st look, RM400+ for a 14" laptop is a good deal.  Just for my stepsister who is in secondary school.  Better full refund and take a cheap new Lenovo.

only research i did was look at the specs and read others review, there is an active thread on Edifiers where you can post info, and some guy has audition lots of Edifiers speakers and he writes lots of review in lowyat. just do a search eg edifier R1900TV

Actually i am quite new to speakers, only starting thinking of upgrading/wast money on a better system since people in this forum was talking about 2.0 speakers or bookshelf speakers and how good they are compared to 2.1
i personally hate base and prefer mid tones, and prefer a flat/balance speaker, dont mide the large speakers and there for 2.0 speakers suite me.

lol initially i was just going to get a R1280T which is 42W, then though to myself hey maybe i want it to bigger system why not just topup about RM100 and get a Bluetooth 66W version. then greedy me think why not topup another RM100 get the 120W !!! version and i dont need bluetooth anyway. its a totally different class all together, magnetic shield so no annoying cellphone crack sound, Class D amplifier system with DSP architecture etc....

autho i have not tried any of the speakers i or you mention. i believe the R1280T will be better then the R1280T but both in the same class, in mid and should be better, not sure about the base tho.

Is R1700BT the best Bluetooth speaker in Edifier? Looking to get one for my dad

2.0 is stereo. 5.1 surround - 3 front/2 back. I never heard of bluetooth home theatre but for 8 metres using cables is still worth it. About budget 1k is really not enough for true home theatre experience. For me lah.  I suggest you run through the cable on the ceiling.

Thanks for recommendation. I guess he only needs stereo since there's no free space behind the sofas, at most only got space to place speakers on the sides of the sofa, which I presume is not a good  way to set up speakers?

Budget is actually flexible, can go up to RM2000, if my dad is paying for it himself.

Anyone got a simple guide that I can follow to purchase the best speakers for my dad, I don't want to spend hours doing research on this.

Forgot to mention that my dad's setup is hooking up a projector with a laptop (got bluetooth). The receiver is connected to the speakers right? So can play movie on laptop then sound come out from speakers 8m away?
