QUOTE(sunnyK @ Jul 10 2008, 11:38 AM) if you could afford ofcoz lah the pioneer DV-600 or otherwise the philips DV 5986 is very popular all over the world as it is known as the king of playability . i thought the NS708 dont have a USB and sammy 1080 may have some playability issues. Thanks.... so I narrowed my option to Pioneer and Phillips. I quote Phillips 5996K because I saw it on Phillips website. So are you sure Phillips 5996K is not in the market yet.if i read you correctly ,your best buy translated into affordability will be DV 5986 DV 5996K will be in the market soon Is it true that Phillips DV5986 is the king of playability. How about its ability to read from USB ... is it good? If then maybe I should go for the DV 5986. |

I made some survey around KL and I found out that the price of Phillips 5986 is at RM 399. And it includes one HDMI giraffe cable. But I have been told that the 'free' cable is not so good because it is free and the size of the cable is only small.
So if i buy the phillips 5986 should I buy a new HDMI cable or just stick with the giraffe cable. Is there really a difference and it is noticeable? What is the acceptable HDMI cable and what about the price? |

QUOTE(amafz01 @ Jul 25 2008, 03:45 PM) I just come back from the KLAV. Where did you see the 5996 at RM360?At the grond floor I saw 5986 and also 5996 at Desa Petaling Electric I think. But the boy over there said that the 5986 he can give me RM360 and for 5996 he can give me RM 380. The difference between 5986 and the 5996 that I saw was that the 5996 can play SACD. I dont know whether I'm going to use that feature or not. So I think I better go for the 5986. What do u guys thing. |
