Quick question:
The Phillips DVP5996 sold here region free? I'm thinking of getting that player but I do have a lot of R1 DVDs.

Well another quick question then for the sifus
I'm using Yamaha RX-V540 AVR at the moment (3 Optical 1 Coaxial) . I have an old Philips DVD player currently connected to the AVR via Optical. What I want to know is, I noted that the 5996 only have digital coaxial. My AVR only have one digital coaxial connection under the label for CD. Would it be a problem getting Dolby Digital/DTS via the CD coaxial input? Full 5.1 sound or will the amp revert to 2.0 sound? If it will cause problems, then I have to opt for the Pioneer 410V instead since I think it has optical out. So should I get Phillips 5996 at RM399 + RM? for Coaxial cable Or Pioneer 410V at RM460 and use existing optical cable? |
