EDIT: I figured if I used a VGA cable instead of component I could choose a higher resolution thus be able to access 1080p resolution. That should work theoratically

I'm really hoping for Microsoft to release a HDMI cable quick for Xbox 360,without it we can't take advantage of the HD-DVDs' full 1080p resolution.Component output only allows up to 1080i

QUOTE(kancheong @ Jul 20 2007, 03:26 PM) Yes bro I agree with you. Now the cheapo head aka me, has just thought of something. Dunno if it is possible so asking all the sifus here. DVD players usually don't have video inputs, only outputs. You can do that to receivers that upscales to 720p/1080i/1080p though. Now I have a vcr(yeah i know its ancient) that has tv tuner which has component outputs. Now the question is does the dvd players have any component inputs ? If yes then we can use the dvd player to upconvert tv signals into the plasma/lcd/projector......? So all tv shows will be in HD !! Sound logical ? Got hope or hopelless fairy tale ? |

I'm wondering, if I get a AV receiver that upscales to 1080p wouldn't it be better than getting a HDMI DVD player for upscaling? And Astro would look better too right?
