Get Pioneer flagship dvd player DVLX-50 if u can afford. Guarantee satisfied.

How much the Pioneer DVD DVLX-50?

I heard that SACD or DVD audio cannot use optical or coaxial cable connection. Must either use 5.1 Audio channel output or HDMI. Is it true?

During the AV show, do they sale DVD player? Will be cheaper there also? rolleyes.gif

Anyone knows the best price for Pioneer DV410S? That unit is very similar to Philips 5996.

It has USB ver2.0, and all the upcpnverting etc. Most of all, it also has an optical output. My older digital amp only takes in optical (NO coaxial)
*
New Philip DVD DVP5996K/98 which can support SACD (Multi-channel SACD for total music immersion)

But Pioneer DV410S cannot support SACD. tongue.gif ...which definitely not the same....SACD cannot use optical or Coaxial output. Moreover Philip DVD DVP5996K/98 can support USB connectivity to Hardisk(FAT32) to play DIVX file. But, I am not sure for this Pioneer DV410S wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

Wanna to know whether this Philip DVD DVP5996K/98 already start selling in Malaysia or dunno for sure how much now thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Hi,

Any owner of Phillips 5986 can give me advise.

I made some survey around KL and I found out that the price of Phillips 5986 is at RM 399. And it includes one HDMI giraffe cable. But I have been told that the 'free' cable is not so good because it is free and the size of the cable is only small.

So if i buy the phillips 5986 should I buy a new HDMI cable or just stick with the giraffe cable. Is there really a difference and it is noticeable?

What is the acceptable HDMI cable and what about the price?
*
Many forummer said Philip 5986 is the king of those range DVD....if compare to sony or Pioneer similar range
But, Philip have come out the newer version (5996/98) which have better connectivity and can support SACD

I have brought the Pioneer DV410 DVD player.....very good....picture compare to my old JVC unit

With upscaling to HD.....better picture especially watching from my 50' TV

Better sound also...might be this time I connect my DVD player with Audiquest coaxial cable rather using the optical cable....compare both sound....winner will be my new DVD with Coaxial cable.....

Moreover....I am not expected that the DVD410 can play Divx movie from my 4G USB thumbdrive....haaa

I didn't go to survey much....I think I get the reasonable price....$465

AIYA...NEW unit only $670 la for Pioneer DV610 DVD player...I rather to buy the new one if $20 different

Picture vise...comparison for DV610 and DV410...same same la..the different is DV610 have decoder for DVD-A and SACD with multichannel output..
Disc for SACD and DVD-A...very expensive la...
Initially , I tot to buy the DV610...but i scrap my plan....even I have two SACD disc....think back...seldom listen to SACD or DVD-A.....
Save a bit and buy a good cable biggrin.gif

Future, when price drop for SACD disc or DVD-A, will consider la

QUOTE(amafz01 @ Aug 11 2008, 04:28 PM)
u have to understand the use of hdmi and coaxial, coaxial are specialy design to deliver digital sound data from dvdp to ur av processor while hdmi only carry a video to your av processor (what was happened to my 5996 and 506 onkyo)
*
aiya....I use my amp just for music only (My Amp doesn't support HDMI, I choose to buy this cause I plan for my amp just for music, if pay much more for amp with upconversion, not worth, unless much more for amp with upscalling).....therefore, I connenct my HDMI directly to TV and coaxial cable to my receiver..... biggrin.gif

QUOTE(manchild @ Aug 11 2008, 04:47 PM)
i thought hdmi carry both video and audio...

Yes....you are absolute correct.....

It has EVERYTHING to do with the cables...

Uncompressed audio is only available via HDMI..

So...I saw many HDMI cable in the market...from hundred to thousand $$$$$....High end one talk about the bandwidth signal of the HDMI...but...what are the minimum requirement..for our HD TV....

QUOTE(99below0 @ Aug 18 2008, 05:29 PM)
This should put paid to the "branded" HDMI cable urban legend...

http://hdguru.com/canadian-broadcasting-co...cable-scam/240/
*
I read the link...but...low cost will not last long...My question is...what HDMI cable is the best to achieve the minimum requirement for HD TV and quality last long also important...

Any recommendation..? What is your choice of HDMI cable (cost and where to buy please)??? icon_question.gif
