There were reports that LVG offered to resign honourably yesterday (hence why he was missing during training) BUT the board turn him down!

We were lucky enough to get the penalty, I expect there will be an extra time.. Well at least we won it, worth staying up late for it  cool2.gif

There would be a replay not extra time

I wouldn't get too excited about South American players & especially Brazillian playing with United.

LVG is a legendary manager, just give him time. let him finish his contract here. he only has 2 transfer windows and only spent few hundreds million on transfer, thats not enough to fully judge his ability.

Damn it, he even subbed Krul for that penalty shootout and won! Imagine if a draw in BPL ended without shootout, MU will be top of the table!
*
I did. Looking at how the Dutch destroyed Spain gave me hope & I'll have to admit I jizzed in my pant. tongue.gif

You're right when you said he had only 2 transfer windows (not including the summer when he took over). But woody's negotiation power has to improve because we are paying over the top for the players we've bought. Everyone keeps harping on the £250 million used by LVG. But how much of it were due to pressure from the teams who sold them?

We're slipping away in the league & what better way than to arrest it starting with arch rival Liverpool this weekend.

i bet spanish league was easy too right? lol. ucl final man of the match nia.. bpl teams r not up to par with the best of europe's offerings.

see how easy these top teams that play in the allegedly easy league outplayed BPL teams in UCL like one of the ordinary teams in that 'easy' league. lol
*
Come on! I'm not going to say EPL is the best league but at the very least it's more competitive than La Liga? EPL has the largest global audience & despite La Liga's effort to attract more audience (shifting matches to prime hours, ie read Asian) it fail to secure a TV right as big as EPL.

That, is the very essence the downfall of English teams when in comes to European tournaments (and their national team).

i think u're missing my point here. bpl is competitive and more so than ever now, not only because the minor teams r getting more money to invest during transfer windows, but also because the top teams r getting worse.

whatever happened to the so-called top 4? chelsea, arse, utd, looserpool?

n my point about di maria is that, while he is playing better in PSG than he was with man utd (in the allegedly easy league), u cant deny the fact that he was always a top player where ever he plays for. argentina n especially for real madrid, he even managed to become one of the best player in the toughest tournament in the world, the champions league during his final season with real madrid. that says a lot about how LVG handles star players ey? robin van persie? chicharito?

we almost lost de gea to madrid FFS if it wasnt because of the botched documentation handling.
*
Well, any decent Utd fan would agree that LVG is a disaster waiting to happen, philosophy or not. BUT, the season is not over yet. Mathdmatically, Utd is still in with a chance to win the league or qualify for next season's UCL. I say mathematically though not realistically. But of coz, Utd has built a stature for themselves so high that merely qualifying for UCL is not gonna be enough. Factually, he did come good in his first season (qualify for UCL, barely). Yes, ADM did play badly under him but as you put it, world class players are suppose to adapt not run away. You gotta admit that his short stay was strewn with uneasiness (suppose to sign for PSG initially, unable to adapt to the English game, fear of harm to his family etc). I sincerely think LVG was only responsible for some of what happened to him. Ultimately, he fail to adapt (Ozil took 2 seasons).

But if you were to ask me, should LVG go? Yes but after this season ends. And, did Utd miss the boat again on Pep? Yes, and if he's successful with City, I seriously think Utd would step into the dark ages like Liverpool & all we could ever talk about is past glories. Is Mourinho the answer? Yes & no. Yes coz Mourinho is a serial winner & no coz he's not gonna stay beyond 3 seasons.

Mathematically. Yes. We can stil win the league. Yes, mathematically we can stil go for top 4. Top four needs 70 points. We need 13 wins from nex 15 to rch that.... mathematically yes. Shall wait for europa. If we are still in it.
*
Truth be told, the 70 point barrier won't be applicable this season looking at how crazy the league is. The next 5 league matches should define how it goes. Stoke (H) Chelsea (A), Sunderland (A), Arsenal (H) & Watford (H). If we can get 13/15 points from these, the path will be clearer. But....

No buy in January? Not even a back up defender? Either United's stock has gone down so low nobody wants to come or the board really don't want to authorise anymore purchase under LVG? Days are numbered?

As I've said previously, we'll have to stick with LVG at least till the end of the season. As evident from the last 2 games, Utd can play in a more aggressive way. Dunno if it's a knee jerk reaction from the Southampton loss or a change of philosophy. We will find out soon enough from the Chelsea & Arsenal games. But if we fail to get positives results from these games, I guess it's fair to say that realistically, the top 4 is out of reach considering leicester's & Spurs' fine form.

And if that happen, what then? Does the board wait until it's mathematically impossible, like Moyes, to sack LVG or he goes then & there after the Arsenal game?

Stick to the point. Did I criticise the player? Why can't we say a team is better when they did play better than us? Be realistic. Besides being man Utd fans. You are also a football fan. Don't try to find bones in an egg. You really have no life . and did u not see I did say a win against Liverpool is always a good thing. Our rival. Tsk tsk tsk.
*
During Moyes reign, it was so depressing because he lost both home & away matches with Liverpool. And I was there at Old Trafford to witness that shamble. The less we talk about Moyes the better.

LVG has won all the game vs Liverpool. That gotta count for something right? Or are some of you forgetting that Liverpool is Utd's public enemy no.1 not Arsenal or Chelsea. I even rate the rivalry with the noisy neighbour a little insignificant.

Speaking of which, oh so they got Pep. So what? City is but a sugar daddy club. I can't wait for the day when the rich sheik decides to pull out.
