Man United outcast Victor Valdes: What I really think of Louis van Gaal
QUOTE VICTOR VALDES says he will always remain thankful to Louis van Gaal despite being frozen out at Manchester United this season. The goalkeeper was exiled from the first team after allegedly refusing to play for the Under-21 side last season. The 34-year-old was forced to train alone at Carrington and had not played a minute of first-team football this season before he joined Standard Liege on loan last month. However, Valdes insists he will always remember the impact Van Gaal had on his career, handing him is Barcelona debut in 2002 and signing him for United last January after he had recovered from a serious knee injury. "I don't have any problem with Louis van Gaal," Valdes told the Daily Mirror. "He discovered me when I was 20 years old. He was the only coach who, in that moment, said: 'I want you in the first team.' "And after my knee ligament injury, he was the first to approach me about playing for Manchester United. "I am thankful to him and will never forget that. He gave me my first game after my injury." nasi lemak good guy valdes. be like valdes. dun be like lvg. |

If we want made giggs our manager in the future, better do like RM with zidane. Ask him to manage u21 team first. Try to be champions for u21 team. Let him gain experience manage a team. That's more proper way to know his ability. Not just jump into first team manager, later he fail then how? Kick him out?

CODE Manchester United have held talks with representatives of former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. The 53-year-old Portuguese, who was sacked by the Blues in December, is increasingly hopeful of succeeding Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford. No agreement has been reached, and the club have made no comment, but negotiations have begun. Dutchman Van Gaal, 64, is expected to leave United at the end of the season - one year earlier than scheduled. That would leave the way clear for Mourinho, who is known to be excited by the prospect of taking over at Old Trafford. The United hierarchy are thought to be keen to respond after Manchester City secured the services of coveted former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola earlier this week. Mourinho's arrival would mean a resumption of a rivalry that began in Spain when he was coach of Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013. It is widely assumed the most obvious alternative to Mourinho is Ryan Giggs, Van Gaal's assistant. The Welshman, who joined United aged 14, made a record 963 appearances for the club and won 13 Premier League titles. The 42-year-old took over as manager on an interim basis in April 2014 following the sacking of David Moyes. Although he has not spoken about the United job since Van Gaal took over, it would be a surprise were he not interested in replacing the Dutchman should the opportunity arise. However, while Giggs was happy to further his education under Van Gaal, he is unlikely to be as willing to work with Mourinho. Twice in recent weeks, Van Gaal's tenure has seemed perilous. However, defeats by Stoke on Boxing Day and Southampton on 23 January have been followed by an improvement in both form and performance. United, who are five points adrift of the Champions League places, play Chelsea on Sunday (16:00 GMT). OH EM GEE! IT'S FAPPENING! JM vs JK vs PG? |

But zidane is not a proven success too. Have to see where he stand end of season. |

![]() QUOTE THE DARKEST DAY February 6th will forever be circled on the calendars of everyone connected with Manchester United. On that day in 1958, the darkest day in United's history, 23 people - including eight players and three members of the club's staff - suffered fatal injuries in the Munich air crash. Flying back from a European Cup tie against Red Star Belgrade, the team plane stopped in Germany to refuel. The first two attempts to take off from Munich airport were aborted; following a third attempt, the plane crashed. Twenty-one of the people on board died instantly. Aeroplane captain Kenneth Rayment died a few weeks later from the injuries he sustained while Duncan Edwards - one of the eight victims from the team - passed away 15 days after the crash. The tragedy is an indelible part of United's history, as is Sir Matt Busby overcoming his injuries to build another great team which won the European Cup 10 years later. Roger Byrne (28), Eddie Colman (21), Mark Jones (24), David Pegg (22), Tommy Taylor (26), Geoff Bent (25), Liam Whelan (22) and Duncan Edwards (21) all died, along with club secretary Walter Crickmer, trainer Tom Curry and coach Bert Whalley. Eight journalists died - Alf Clarke, Tom Jackson, Don Davies, George Fellows, Archie Ledbrook, Eric Thompson, Henry Rose, and Frank Swift who was a former Manchester City player. Plane captain Ken Rayment perished, as did Sir Matt's friend Willie Satinoff. Travel agent Bela Miklos and crew member Tom Cable also died. We will never forget. http://www.manutd.com/en/History/Munich-Re...ruary-1958.aspx This post has been edited by alien2003: Feb 6 2016, 12:03 PM |
