myvi brake caliper pin, sc can do for free?

its gonna be 1 year since i got my car....last wednesday i did my 20k service...next day while drving i got famous kok kok sound....luckily had workshop nearby i pulled in and they said its the caliper pin...120 to do...they told me perodua wont do....but after driving around a few days no noise...so wht u guys think i should do?

perodua will do it for free just tell them when u go over to the service centre

Unless it's under warranty, SC may do it , for free. But 50/50 chances. But usually they try NOT to do it for free, even within warranty, and try come up with excuses to make you pay for it.

Just replace the pins to those with some silicone bush to take up the play that cause the rattle. With the right tools, a ring spanner, jack, some rubber grease, its not difficult to replace the pins. Youtube got some tutorials. Its mostly the same procedure. I inspected the old pins and wear was very slight, yet it gave an occasional rattle. There was no serious metal wear. The new pins solved the problem, now coming to a year, no issues. When done properly, it should last the lifetime of the car, no need to replace these anymore, unless its a very poorly made or designed product.
