haha the head is tilting to the side la off course, for 1 month old baby this will make them sleep peacufully for long duration. but you need to keep an eye on them, you don't want them to suffocate.
*
yeah. its got higher chance of SIDS so gotta keep an eye on them. i also did this for my son once in a while. but in the end prefered his side. now hes older sleeps like a tornado. dont know how end up shove his own body into the corner of the crib till he gets stuck...

i sleep on my front everyday. so comfy hahaha. babies enjoy it. they are so light so pressure is reduced. can hold them on their tummy if you want till they sleep then can arrange them however when you put them down on the bed.

i roll my son with a big cloth so he don't move too much on the sides... its good in a way to make him feel tight and secure.
but it seems like he doesn't like to be rolled and he always tries to kick and punch away the cloth, eventually he fails....

haha. yeah need to bundle them tight at the beginning. also, you shouldnt get those crib bumper things. later when your baby can roll but not strong enough to roll back they might get stuck and cant breathe. so scary the thought shocking.gif my baby slept without pillows or anything. just a blanket. which he will kick off 30 mins into his sleep. haha. so also kinda useless. now just campak him there and he will round round round until he gets stuck and wakes up.

price to hire a confinement lady in the month of Feb is doubled which is around RM8500, hence my MIL came n helped out. She went home yesterday to celebrate CNY so me n my wife are taking of him(son) now.the first day itself my MIL left my wife seems to be in a little phobia stage especially when he cries. she is kind of depressed and tell that she is having problem to take care of him alone when I'm away for work. in fact we do sit down n talk I'm giving full support at all time and at all cost.... same go to some house chores like washing the baby clothes etc I'm chipping in to help even to cook. However this doesn't comfort her much. Any of ur wife experience the same?

Many ladies nowadays cant bear to look after their son without freaking out. Hahaha... My wife also freaking out with our first son. Lots of arguments, crying etc. Oh well... those were the days. Post labour depression is indeed very real nowadays.

I think what you should do is ask her do the chores instead while you look after the baby. Are you using cradle? Can really buy or borrow one to try out. If it works, then your wife should freak a lot less since cradle helps baby sleep better and also baby head shape will look nicer since not subjected to any pressure when lying on harder bedding.

to update, i bought a cradle yesterday and could see he sleep pretty well.
To compare previous week, every 1 or 2 hour interval he would be awake for milk or somehow cried for no reason. Now he slept more than 3 hours and woke up for milk. also it is very easy to put him to sleep after feeding... smile.gif
lately he has running nose and has difficulty to breathe at times end up crying. what should i do then?

Glad to hear that it works for you. If that works well, you can even consider an electric one so that you spend less time putting him to sleep. If you baby dont need frequent swinging, you can buy one with timer.

As for running nose, I think he/she could have caught a cold or something. Better see doc for medicine. I think Vicks also had a milder version for baby only.

Since you are using cradle now, you might noticed that all of the cradle cloth being sold are breathable ones. It will provide less warmth compared to sleeping on beds. You may consider changing baby clothings to full length and even cover him with a tiny cloth like new napkins as prevention from catching cold. Or you can just wrapped him before putting him into the cradle. For me, my mom has some sarong from when we were babies, these will be extra protection from catching cold. Is your room air-conditioned? If yes, then consider wrapping your baby or change the cradle cloth to sarong.

in fact i didnt use air con since he got flu\running nose
the cradle cloth is breathable one, reason being not to make him feel hot but feel normal.... too hot makes him feel uncomfortable too
now we are using the electric one, i turn it on 24 hours at night.
Do u think i need to use it only when it is required or it is ok to turn it on 24\7?

Depends on you. Personally both my son dont let me turn it off. Once off, they will be awake. All I want is to give my wife and I some good sleep in the middle of the night. It helps especially when your relationship is on strain due to being sleepless.

I think you need to change him into long shirt and pant. Dont worry about being hot when the cradle is on. In fact, it will only get colder.

As a matter of fact, I get 2 cradle, one in my room while the other is a portable set, alternating between my mom and during weekend, where I will bring them to my MIL house.

BTW, using a cradle also come with a benefit. This depends on whether or not you are willing to try. I cant recall the exact time frame but after few months (I cant remember, could be 3 or 5months), my mom started giving him milk in the cradle. Since my son is a slow eater, it really helps during midnight. Just use a napkin to support the bottle and he will eventually finish and return to sleep. Therefore I dont need to spend 30minutes or 1 hour to feed him after that.

sorry but I feel this is dangerous actually.. babies should never be left to drink milk that way.. they can choke and *touchwood* it can kill them.

Well, it really depends on you.

My son has stuck with 1M nipple (2 holes) up to a year. We tried 3 holes and he choked on that even when we feed him. However it would took a very long time with the 2 holes nipple, thus which is why we resort to this method. Dangerous or not, really up to you. Just a suggestion, not a recommendation.

Personally I dont think its easy to be choked with liquid, especially when its done through a bottle with limited flow.

Happy CNY too smile.gif

Oh btw for the sleep schedule, i followed a schedule from a book i bought its called "contented little baby" it's really helpful, i think i bought that at Popular.

For the runny nose i took my little one to doctor and was prescribed with a saline drop, its basically an eye drop which is very neutral and it helps to relieve runny nose.

Alternatively you may want to buy humidifier, air conditioner tends to make the air in the room very dry.

Oh OK. Alright.
Would be going to Kk or specialist to get the same. cuz with running nose he couldn't even sleep well in cradle.

i use humidifier but i put it in general direction of where the air cond blows, so it will moisten the air. if you feel uncertain about it, try to bring down the temperature to 27 - 28 degrees, i know its hot but its good for the baby.
