What Muok said is true. Because of the high demand for the Wii here, vendors bring in a small supply of the consoles and jack up the prices in hopes of selling to a desperate buyer. The shipping and handling may cause the price to increase but not to the obscene price of 2k.

ya its true their selling wii for super crazy price. rather get a 360 right? I mean, it is more powerful and I think the reason you wanted a wii was becos of that 250 USD super tempting price tag.

Price is one thing. Another thing I already have a PC so whatever comes to 360 will most probably come to PC.
I notice that even Gamecube is quite expensive here as well. USD150 instead of USD85.

when x360 first came to MY... it was sold around rm3600-4000... that's a whooping rm9-10 vs $1 conversion... comparing it to Wii during the first month... i only paid around rm8 per $1... and now even lower... and that's lower compared to x360s during their launch time... just wait for a year and let's see if there is still something to complain about Wii costing more than x360...

You could try ordering from Australia. The price there is about the same as the USD retail. There will be shipping and handling costs but in the long run, It would be cheaper than buying locally

But there's a catch, Aussie version is PAL version, which games are tad bit hard to get (provided that you have a supplier in Australia :/)
