Dear all,

Recently went to some Japanese ala carte buffet restaurant and the idea struck my mind to have my wedding dinner there buffet style instead of typical chinese restaurant.

What are the pro and cons ? Anyone care to share their opinion?

What i can think off :

Pros:
1. New concept from conventional chinese cuisine
2. Buffet style, can eat more
3. Ala carte style, plus point
4. Free flow beer and sake biggrin.gif

Cons:
1. Restaurant has limited place, can only take 100 pax
2. Elders can accept such food ?
3. Seats seating are not grouped accordingly
4. There are VIP rooms which resulted in isolation
5. No place for staging (mc, speech, etc)
6. No audio visual

Say, if i really were to go for it, you think is it ok to divide into 2 session (lunch and dinner) since they cant accomodate so many people. Probably families and relatives lunch , friends dinner at the same venue ? Whats your opinion ?

Had the same idea few years ago, and I can say that it's a terrible idea. Think of it, do you really want everyone to keep on walking around the restaurant for food all the time? You will have someone talking to nobody on stage. You will have kids running around. You will lost track of people that you and your wife had toast to.
